This is a VERY honest review. Breakfast is my precious time of the day and I have ALWAYS struggled to find an actual good and... affordable place. This is the only place for breakfast around SD that I actually LOVE. Literally EVERYTHING in the menu is good.Even the cappuccino is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Açai bowls are huge and sooooo good. I always order either the Cali Turkey sandwichor the Pesto Panini. Make sure to try the Honey Cinnamon iced latte, it is a MUST! During busy times can take a while for thefood to get ready since they are a small business and not a corporate operation. The wait is 100% worth it. Busy times areusually 9-11 but besides that the food gets ready pretty fast. Everyone who works there is super nice too! Best place forbreakfast and Brazilian food!! The menu variety is HUGE. All ingredients are sooo fresh too! Read more

Mannnn. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. Unfortunately Ocean Cafe didn't live up to the ratings. Sunday morning IS... NOT the time to come enjoy breakfast or a morning drink. The GOOD: The acai bowls and croissants were top notch. The food wasgood. The BAD... We waiting almost 30 minutes for our food and drinks. Granted the 2 women working we're completely in theweeds. But the group that ordered after us received their food before us, they forgot our matcha and coffee cake. The place wasfull and only 2 employees could not keep up. They would take orders before making coffee for those that had already beenwaiting. Not a great experience unfortunately. Maybe coming here on a weekday or slow time, or just hire more staff. A word tothe owners, stop doing door dash, UberEATS, etc. And focus on the customers that choose to drive or walk to your business. Yourbusiness is struggling to keep up already Read more

Picked up a Turkey and cheese croissant for less than $5 and a Thai coffee for a fair price. Staff is nice and there?s lots of... seating. No much signage so look for the corner spot next to the gas station. Read more

I finally got to try Ocean Cafe today after reading raving reviews on both Yelp and Google. This hole in the wall location is a... hidden gem for some of the best breakfast/lunch food in San Diego for very reasonable prices! I got the PB Chocolate Bananaprotein smoothie with an added shot of espresso for much needed energy. This beauty was rich, thick, and kept me full andenergized for hours. I also got a regular croissant which was IMMACULTE. The pastry was so flaky and delicious - can't wait tocome back to try the croissant sandwiches! If you haven't tried out this spot yet, RUN don't walk! Read more

Yum! I had the California bagel on toasted whole wheat, a 12 oz vanilla Carmel latte, and pineapple with mint juice, and all... were delicious! Hubby had oatmeal, but he?s not too talkative in the morning, so no rating from him. He cleaned his bowl, though! Definitely going back. Read more

Another day, another açaí bowl! This time we checked out Ocean Cafe. It was actually recommended by a friend that used to live... in the area and told us that it was super legit and that they were probably the best açaí bowl place in San Diego. We wantedto see what he was talking about! Obviously we got açaí bowls, but there were so many other things on the menu that seemedamazing like their sandwiches, and their shakes and smoothies! Now onto the açaí bowls themselves... FANTASTIC! Everycomponent was super fresh, and it amazed me on how fresh, and "real" the açaí was! Even the fruit were super juicy and sweet. However, I do prefer my açaí as more of a sorbet or frozen yogurt, and nice and cold. But at this place, the açaí had moreof a melted ice cream consistency which was at room temp. Don't get me wrong, it was super tasty and refreshing, but I do preferit when the açaí is colder and more of a sorbet consistency. Another thing to add on was that the fruit felt somewhat warm, like it was at room temperature, and the granola wasn't too crunchy, it had more of a lighter and softer texture. Overall, everything was really good, the staff were super nice and pleasant, and I was pretty satisfied. In the end, I just love açaíbowls... probably as much as I love bubble tea! Read more

Ocean Cafe is a small little Cafe that has breakfast and lunch items, plus lots of healthy drinks, shakes and smootheis. The... staff here is really friendly, pricing is good on the food but a little much on the beverages, and they have a few seats insideand outside. Parking here can get tough since the parking lot is quite small but there's plenty of street parking around.Croissant breakfast sandwiches are where it's at here for sure. Read more
