San Diego local and we?ve been meaning to check out with is place for a while. Let?s just say I am severely depressed that I... have been skipping over the PB Fish Shop all my life. It is my family?s new obsession. The line to order took a bit long withonly one register but it is well worth the wait. The grilled Mahi Mahi tacos were amazing and the pricing is very fair for howmuch fish you get! Be careful, there is pineapple in the macaroni salad for anyone else who is allergic. Great beers on draftand clean restrooms as well. Thanks Fish Shop, look forward to another delicious dinner in the near future! Read more
This was one of the best restaurants I?ve been to hands down! All the food was fresh and the wonderful people that work here... are awesome and very accommodating, friendly and helpful! Great place! Check it out if you like to have seafood, especially if you want to have crispy shrimps! Their outdoor space is... great! The service was great and fast. The food was good and they have a full bar with great options. We were there for dinnerduring the week so it wasn?t as crowded, but they have a parking space which is good for weekends. Check it out! Pet friendly seating outside. Lots of seating. Blackened sea bass was perfectly done. Crisp blackened outside sealed leaving... a steamed moist inside. The seasoning was delicious with a light spice. Good food for a reasonable price. Expressed first time visitors - no additional support or guidance given in our ordering... process. Some items were not available. Service was fair and noticed inconsistent presentation of food for same items atdifferent tables Got our order wrong a couple of times when bringing it to our table - response from the server, "Kitchen isstruggling today." We did not have a "special order" (regular items straight from the menu). Shrimp were prepared very well.Rest of items were somewhat sloppy and some fish was significantly overcooked. It was little late in afternoon, when we decided to hit the place for a late small lunch. So it was not the pick hour when we... visited the restaurant. Still the place was quite packed. We took some clam Chowder soup in a bread bowl, and a plate of fishand chips. Everything was fresh and piping hot. The fish quality was top and the food was stellar. They had fresh oyster, poke,ceviche a lot other seafood specialities. However, we enjoyed the food we ordered. The environment was chill, laid back andpretty casual. We sat outside. Most of the people were choking with food and beer. The environment was hip. Only the staff/ guyserving our food was a bit rude. He never smiled, and even didn?t answer when we asked him something. He was absolutely jerk,although I understand that he must be tired. But a bad behaviour cannot be excused! We ate at a lot of taco places while we were in the area and this is our #1 vote. Went twice during our stay. Extensive... selection of fresh fish, nice seasoning options, great service, good beer/wine list. You can get your fish grilled (instead ofbreaded & fried) -- which is surprisingly hard to find; thank you, PBFS! They've turned most of their parking lot into loads ofoutdoor seating, complete with patio umbrellas and heaters (tho most were not working when we were there). Highly recommend! Read more
Fresh fish in a lovely casual dining situation. You order inside and can take your market to put anywhere in the large seating... area outside. There are set dinners, but you can just pick a type of fish, a marinade, and a way they'll prepare it. I had theOno and the black cod prepared completely different ways in a taco (one with a corn tortilla and the other with a flour tortillaso I could tell the difference) and my husband got the blackened Ono on a salad. It was all delicious. And the outdoor seatingby the fire was very nice for a chilly evening. Read more
