We shared a Cookies n Cream gelato. Flavor was off and much too sweet. Texture was course. The 2 macaroons included seemed... stale. This was not gelato- try Gelato 101 in Encinitas owned by an Italian. It is soooo good and authentic with exact flavorthat you would expect. Had it featured at our daughter's wedding this year. I don?t often come to this part of town and actually had trouble finding this location. Look up. It?s above Jimbo?s. Take the... escalators to the left and you can?t miss it when you reach the top. There?s plenty of seating, a good menu, and a good vibe. Wewent for crepes, which are a little pricey, but look where you are and it makes sense. Good cafe and good desserts. But, why the employee excepted that I needed to pay the tips? Why did I need to pay for the tips? I... took my desserts and cafe to the table by myself. My family and I enjoyed our food here. I had the Alsacien (croissant sandwich), and it was lovely. My only complaint about this... spot was it being a bit short staffed at the time we went. Everybody got their food maybe 5 or so minutes apart. I was aboutfinished with my food by the time my mother was just getting her food. It was just one person working at the time though. Read more
