All about the holiday feels in here. Incredible decorations in here. Walk in and you?ll think you just got lost in the ?Beyond?... section of Santa?s workshop! Some Christmas music would?ve been good though. The drinks did taste very good and the service wasprompt. Overall, for sure to go back and I understand why there?s a line outside; it helps to keep some space inside as well. Read more

Been here a handful of times and we are always pleased. The atmosphere is always nice. The decor reminds you of something right... out of the roaring twenties. The drinks are always great. And plenty to choose from. From a simple old fashion or something morecomplex. Can get a bit crowded but that's to be expected for a place of this caliber. Always love to visit when in town. We found Polite Provisions and stopped in for a couple drinks while waiting for our table at a nearby restaurant. The ambience... is fun and the drink selection is good. I had the Jalapeno cocktail and it was dangerously delicious. They'd just won an awardthe day of our visit too. The staff were friendly and there was plenty of seating. Read more

When someone in your group has been in the cocktail/bar world for 30 years says, "This menu is SOLID... so solid I can't decide... what to order!", you know you're in the right place. Polite Provisions has never disappointed. Classic Carribean influencedcocktails that are both classic and modern sets the tone here. No blender drinks, just hand crafted libations that are made asfast or as slow as needed, and by bartenders that do it proper. The place has a sweet vibe, with the sounds of classicLatin-Caribe/Salsa y Tropical music surrounding you. With each sip the beat takes hold and soon Héctor Lavoe comes on and says"eso se baila asi", and it makes you want to jump out of your seat and dance (I may or may not have done this)! TIP: go duringoff hours if you can. Weekends there will be a line, but we stop in on Monday's and it's perfect. Not crowded at all and it'seasy to be seated. A nice selection of craft beer is also available. Read more

Going to resist making this an overly polite review. Please don?t blame me if I can?t help it though. I ALMOST went to Polite... Provisions 7 months ago around Christmas, and I?ve been wanting to go ever since. Drinks aka provisions Honestly, thenon-alcoholic drinks looked great. I?d try the ginger beer. My favorite person and I got drinks that were full of alcohol, however. We got the Missionary?s Downfall, the Humuhumunukunukuapua?a, one we can?t remember with mint and strawberry, and acoffee cocktail that was made in lieu of the Dublin Irish Coffee since they didn?t have the ingredients for it. They were allamazing. I don?t think you can go wrong with any drinks here. Atmosphere When it?s not so lively, this is the perfect place fora date. The flickering lights at each table create a perfect ambiance as you gaze into your date?s eyes. You might forget thatit?s rude to stare. Recommend? Without a doubt. Thank you for reading. Read more

My friend and I was trying to go to a place next door, but they didn't have a sitdown for alcohol only. We decided to walk into... this place and fell in love with it. We ordered the humuhumunukunukuapua'a, uncle jalapeño, and a couple redbreast whiskey. Everything was bomb. We loved our waitress Brittany too. She was amazingly attentive and friendly all while she had many tablesto wait. She was helpful in describing each cocktail to help us with our choices. I especially loved the decor and music! Wecan't wait to come back! Read more

A local friend of mine brought me to this bar after having dinner. From the outside alone, I knew it was going to be an... interesting visit. It was decked out with Christmas decorations from top to bottom! Upon entering, there were even moredecorations in all the nooks and crannies. Talk about festive! If you want to get in the Christmas mood, this is definitely theplace to be in December! Beyond that, I was pretty impressed with the drink menu. Lots of craft drinks and options. I had to andthey were pretty outstanding! I don?t like to go to a bar and pay for an overpriced drink that I could?ve made it home. All ofthe drinks I had were crafted with layers of flavors. The bartenders were nice and the service was quick! I also enjoyed themusic playing. I will definitely make it a point to visit the next time I?m in San Diego! Read more

First time here and definitely it'll be one of my favorite bars to visit. They do not offer food menu nor snacks but allow you... to bring your food in, so basically the best option to bring in from is Fortune Door, a restaurant besides, and the food isreally good. There's a variety of cocktails and the service is excellent. I really recommend this place. I had a stout beer anda lager with grape juice that I enjoyed but I wouldn't try again. It was too much sweet for me. Read more
