I highly recommend Rubio?s. I used to live in San Diego, and would frequent Rubio?s. On my first trip back to SD in over 7... years, I was actually craving Rubio?s and ended up staying at a hotel right across the street from this Rubio?s location. Firstnight in SD = Rubio?s for dinner. I got the trio tacos, and the food was just as I remembered, delicious and a great value forthe money. The staff was also friendly. It is super good. Only had like 2 bad meals here out of many visits. Still always give the credit card machine a weird look for... asking for a tip before i even get my food, and the fact it's always to-go, what am I tipping for exactly? Read more
Rubio's used to be my favorite spot. I really like the seasoning and flavors. But in the past few years, pre covid, the portions... have gotten smaller and the seasonings seem to have changed. My partner begged to fo for fish tacos. This visit was disappointing. The fish tacos were scrawny. The chipotle salsa has an odd aftertaste. I miss Rubio's. Read more
Our new favorite sorta-fast food joint! Georgia was awesome! I'm sure we were annoying to her, as we had a hard time making up... our minds. She recommended to have the Mahi Mahi blackened, and great choice. I'm glad we went that route. It's spicy, butright on the edge of "too hot" and the flavors were great. The food tastes amazing, but the customer service was some of the worst I?ve ever experienced. They were extremely racist and... not only accused me of stealing, but also my mother when we came to pick up our food that I ordered online. As I as was tryingto help my son get a drink the worker proceeded to yell profanities at my family. I will not be bringing my family to eat hereanymore, as it is not family friendly. Read more
This is the OG spot for fish tacos in Southern California. The original location from the beginning of the franchise. The staff... is what you would expect from a fast food joint, but they seem dedicated and do what is expected in a friendly manner. I thinkthe price has crept up like most things in 2022, and portion sizes are good but not great. However, I will say my original fishtaco was good size and didn?t lack. You will find more artisanal fish tacos all around San Diego these days, but Rubio?s stillserves one of the best fish tacos all these years later. Read more
The food was really good but the customer service was not the best. Came in at around 8pm an hour before they closed. Was... waiting for a good while before anybody came to see what I wanted. And the bigger lady with the braces had a really badattitude. Almost like she was just annoyed that I was there. I wouldn?t have said anything but this has happened 2 times sinceI?ve came into the store with the same person. Read more
