Dined for restaurant week last night. I don't know about everyone else but this restaurant week pricing really seems to be... going sky high. This place was a $40 offering. I had the bruschetta, bolognaise. And a puff pastry cream thing for desertwhich was delightful. All the dishes were presented well. My only criticism is that I would have liked a slightly biggerportion of the bolognaise. It was delicious though. Very tasty. We sat outside which had a lovely atmosphere. Went here for girl’s night after winning a raffle for gift certificate. The food was delicious. I had the steak medallions and... it was seriously the best beef dish in years- so tender!! My friends had a risotto with scallops that was so luxurious and theother a spinach ravioli that was great. The space is inviting and comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff wasgreat and food came out quickly. Randy, my contact person for gift certificate, was excellent too. I will definitely be back. Itseems like a great spot for romantic date or group dinner. I was hungry and my blood sugar was dropping after showing homes today. Liberty Station was nearby and I wanted to try something... new. I came into Solare and I was not disappointed. Since it was almost 2:30pm when I walked in, the restaurant was quiet and Iwas grateful for that. I was seated, looked at the menu and placed my order. I passed on the wine or cocktail, although it wastempting based on the extensive menu. Bread and olive oil was brought to the table. I was surprised to see only olive oil withsome small flakes in it. I took a piece of the focaccia bread and dipped it in the olive oil. The first bite that I took washeavenly. I had been expecting olive oil with balsamic vinaigrette and this was a very nice change of pace. Come to find out theolive oil had some tarragon in it which gave it such a great taste experience with the bread. When my spinach ravioli arrived Iwas in for another treat. The sauce the spinach ravioli was in consisted of butter and sage. Once more as I took that first biteI was pleased. I knew I wanted to try their pistachio crème brûlée for dessert so I asked for a box for half of the ravioli.Now I will have lunch tomorrow! Needless to say, the pistachio cream Brulé was a hit to my taste buds as well. There was asmoky char to the sugar on top which complemented the taste of the pistachios in the cream Brulé. I will admit though, that Iwas not sure with my first bite that is the smoky Ness of the Char was a bit strong. And the more I ate this luscious dessertthe happier I became. My wife and I were walking around Liberty Station like we often do looking for something good to eat. We had seen Solare a... couple of times but for one reason or another didn't try it until today. We walked up to the hostess to ask for a table that wegot even without a reservation. We ordered a couple of lasagnas, plus drinks, coffee and dessert that was promptly served by ournice server. Prices were a bit higher than what we expected but you know what? everything is more expensive these days. We willbe back when in the area. Read more
Great service , the staff is sooo nice and welcoming , the food is incredible and the price is right - you won’t regret it!... Had the arancine Al tartufo, pear and Gorgonzola pizza, risotto tartufo e capesante, the tiramisu, the pistachio creme brule anddrinks. I am usually disappointed when I order spaghetti because 9/10 I can make better spaghetti at home. This time I was surprised,... the spaghetti tasted very good and you can tell it was properly cooked and not just sauce from a can. The service was good andthe owner came by to say hi.
