I really like the ambiance and overall vibe of this place. The food was good, the service was mostly good except we had to ask... for the bread. Our table ordered the ribeye and tomahawk steak and it was a good quality steak. Cooked to a perfect medium. Notsure how many oz the tomahawk was but it was $130. The lobster and cheese was pretty bland though. The lava cake was just ok aswell. Read more

It was my girlfriend's birthday and I wanted to take her to a fancy dinner. We were debating between The Butcher's Cut and... Greystone Prime, which is right next to Butcher's Cut. My girlfriend decided on Butcher's Cut, because the girl at the frontsaid they had calamari..... LIE #1 We also got there at happy hour, but happy hour was only at the bar.... LIE #2 The food wasextremely overpriced. I got the sea bass, which was basically like a kids portion and the taste was bland. Pretty sad for $44.My girlfriend ordered the ribeye. That was pretty good, but she ordered it medium and it came out rare. The crab cake was prettygood, but my favorite was the brussel sprouts. My girlfriend wanted tiramisu for her bday dessert, but they were out. So she gotthe lemoncello cake, which she didn't really care for. Overall, a pretty disappointing experience. I recommend going toGreystone Prime instead. Just as overpriced, but at least you won't get lied to there just so they can get customers. Read more

Be prepared to spend a little extra to eat here. Thier presentation on thier dishes where really set right. I give this place 3... stars cause the waitress gave is the specials and but what was really selling us a 200$ plate for a tri rib eye, lamb chops andstuffed lobster ravioli. I wasn't an awe with our dishes but they were good. I've been to some nice steak houses this place isthe prices I've ever been to. Even thier drinks where 25$ each for a small jack and coke. All in all this was a good priceyplace just wasn't expecting to pay $650 for me and my wife. Read more

Upscale aged steakhouse in downtown San Diego. Would have been 4 stars but for the price i was expecting a lot more. The... ambiance and decor was very enjoyable and eclectic. The music was loud enough that we were shouting to be heard in conversationand could hardly hear the hostess. Nice large bar with a decent selection as well as some house specialty cocktails. Thepresentation and plating was top notch and the food was quite attractive. There is a large dry aging case at the rear with manyhuge cuts on display. Our server was very nice. Overall the service (on a Saturday night at 8 pm) was lacking (thoughprofessional and pleasant when it happened). Water glasses were often empty and used plates accumulated until we stacked themourselves. Our meals (party of 5) arrived with sides missing and some was cold. :( i sent back the brussle sprouts (nasty). The clam chowder, though very tasty, took me 10 minutes to pry the clams out of the shells so my wife could eat it. The trufflebutter mash potato was great but the parmesean fries were so so. The bread was quite tasty and presented in a nice verticalbasket. The lamb chops were the shinning star. New york steak was ok and the fillet was good but not great. Crab cakes werewell done but spicy sauce. They charged $49 for a very small lobster tail. It was cold. We sent it back. They sent a new onewhich was hot but flavorless. Not worth $49. They impose 3.75% cost of goods surcharge. Could have been great but $400 forparty of 5 with no drinks is enough that the experience should have been great. Hard to recommend at this price point. We wereunderwhelmed to the point that we did not want to risk dessert. Read more

The Butchers Cut! Amazing! The food was fantastic! It was cooked as ordered and served hot and fresh. The cocktails are great... and reasonably priced. The restaurant was busy but the service was great! The restroom and restaurant were both clean. Read more

I'm giving this place an extra star because the dishes were cooked to perfection... but they had no flavor. The steaks were... excellent cuts of meat, the chicken was both tender and juicy, but the potatoes had more flavor than any meat on the table. Forthe kind of place that serves a $2,500 bottle of wine, I expected gourmet flavors... like they displayed in the $21 tiny crabcake appetizer. It was good, but also not worth the price. We had the 16oz center cut New York, the 22oz bone-in ribeye, andthe jidori chicken. The meats were tender, juicy, and as flavorful as porridge. The server did her level best to upsell everyoneon a more expensive dish, and to tack on side dishes. Which brings me to the lobster mac and cheese. It smelled and tasted likefish, not like lobster, so I'm afraid it wasn't fresh. We won't be returning unless there is a new chef or new management. Read more

Had a very mixed experience, really unexpected since I booked a large private party. My grading is mostly based on how much I... paid and still didn't get proper results. If I had to grade on food quality and flavor, I'd give it one more star. The hostesswas very helpful and nice and tried to make everyone's experience great, but there was just some things that went wrong. Theissues... The menu I picked out had some errors and items missing. Once customers started reciving their steaks, we found thatallot of them had been cooked wrong temperature and had to redone. Lastly the crab cake wasn't great. Really just tasted likeblue crab which was good for some, but bad for others. When they got it right, they got it very right though. The rest of thefood we ordered and the steaks that were cooked properly were fantastic. I'm not really sure if this was just an off night or ifit's like this daily, but it was good enough that I'm willing to head back again. Read more

Yes. Yes. Yes. I can't begin to tell you how impressed I am with this restaurant. If you get the chance you have to stop here... for dinner. We went here for New Years Eve. They had a limited menu but that was fine because they still had plenty to choosefrom on the menu. We had the bone in ribeye and brussel sprouts and mushrooms. The food came out quick and hot. The steaks werecooked to perfection and the mushrooms and brussel sprouts were seasoned very well. The service was amazing. The server wasvery helpful with the dairy allergy and he was very knowledgeable about the menu. Read more
