Great spot to hang out. Dog-friendly, and a good amount of outdoor space. The bartender (gray beard, didn't catch his name) was... very nice and helpful. Chatted with us a bit about his dog and our dog, and when we tried using an online gift card he dideverything he could to input it manually, scan the QR code, etc. When it didn't work he suggested emailing support, they clearedup that the card could only be used online, so I used it to pick up some beer at the Barrio Logan location where they were veryfriendly as well. The bar tender was super helpful about describing and recommending what's on the menu that would satisfy my palette. The place... welcomes dogs, so open and great place to hang out. Parking may be a little challenging, gotta park along the streets but youcan find one, just time it right. I love Thorn, I've always loved Thorn. It's a great location, close to my house. The staff is awesome, the food trucks outside... have always been amazing, the beer is awesome. Nothing to not like and one ofy favorites in SD. Tacos courtesy of Atesano Tacos(also amazing)! Read more
We had a delightful time this afternoon at Thorn Street brewery. In South Park San Diego. I had a flight of the hazy, relay,... Hoppy IPA and the Porter. He had a pint of lager. They require that you purchase a five dollar food truck coupon for eachperson. Which I understand because of COVID-19. I was pleasantly surprised by the IPAs. They were very smooth and drinkable, yetinterestingly as the time went on and the beer got warmer, the IPA became more hoppy. I love their outdoor space and whatthey?ve done with the place since the last time I was there two years ago. The bartender was attentive, helpful and sanitizedthe tables before we sat down.
