The food was fresh and yummy. The mango lemonade is good, more on the tart side than sweet. The food portions were a really good... size, we took home food. I've been going to Urbane for years and have never been disappointed. The sandwiches are fantastic and details like using such a... tasty balsamic on the side salad stand out. This place checks all my boxes: the bottom bread is not soggy and dripping, when i bite into the sandwich my shirt doesn't have... to partake in the experience, the top slice is not teetering over an off-center lump of meat, the condiments aren't pulverizedand squirted randomly in the general vicinity of the sandwich, they have not missed the sandwich altogether with their slice ofcheese or tomato, the bread is fresh and has some consistency to it. It's a good place for sandwiches. They have options thatis not just ham and cheese, and they don't automatically toss onions and diced tomatoes and a squirt of lime on everything(which is way more common than i like in the San Diego area). In search of good soup, we found Urbane Cafe. My daughter and I shared the turkey and brie sandwich on fresh baked foccacia.... Delicious. And the tomatoe and feta soup was delicious. Amazing, healthy selections to choose from at this Cafe. The salad that I had was very fulfilling and tasty. I would have rated... this 5 stars but one of the pieces of chicken was a little tough, so I'm going with 4 stars instead. The staff is very friendlyand the Ambiance in the cafe was amazing. Came by to try this place since it got a lot of great reviews and I ordered their seasonal, Peruvian sandwich. The sandwich... doesn't have a lot of taste, and the salad is also pretty bland. It doesn't taste bad, but definitely not good. The veggies arepretty fresh, but that's all they have going for them. Their bread is also freshly made in house, but the bread comes about abit tough for me, and might benefit from getting toasted with the sandwich.
