A coworker recommended this place so we decided to pop in. Got there on a weekday around 7 and was able to snag a parking spot... right out front in the parking lot. Was immediately seated on the patio. The inside decor and ambiance is non-descript andpretty basic. This is one of those places you mark what you want directly on the menu. Ordered some mushroom balls and calamarifor appetizers. The mushrooms never came out and the calamari was 3 miniscule tentacles - not rings as pictured on the menu. Wesent those back. Ordered 3 different kinds of rolls that were pretty good. Unfortunately, not good enough to make up for thelack of service we received. i love coming here with my siblings or friends. the staff is so nice. the sushi is so good as well! literally one of my favorite... places to go to. crazy crunch roll and tj roll are my faves. the yellowtail fish is super good i recommend trying it too ! Read more

I would have happily given this place five stars, but the service is trash. Food is amazing though, so I keep coming back.
Sushi tasted amazing, tried about 6 types, I think I was overcharged because I wish missing food I ordered (apps), and the... server I got, I think a Russian like girl, was not very kind or attentive. I went on Monday 20th of Sept. Also, my friend and Ithe next day had horrible runs, 3 days later, I am still suffering the effects. Very disappointed in that. Didn't make a goodlast impression from service and quality after. Tasted great, but the $80 bill was not worth the health effects after. Read more

Wonderful Sushi Hillcrest, San Diego....I know now why it gets its name!. A small Izakaya, and for those of you wondering that's... s Japanese for Sushi Bar. But let's get on with the review this place is located right about center city Hillcrest with easyaccess off of University boulevard located in the corner of it's strip mall with plenty of parking. On our visit we were greetedand seated quickly, the atmosphere is upbeat with a nice variety of music playing in the background. Both inside and outsidepatio seating is available and is kid friendly. Although I wasn't in the mood for sushi on this day there bento box reallycaught my eye and you won't be disappointed. My wife opted for the tempura plate which was by far the most tempura I've everseen served it was fantastic!! Both of our meals came with all the fixings soup salad etc and well portioned. The service wasgreat didn't see the waitress much lol but she was always there at the right time. Total cost for today's lunch was $40 bucksnot including the tip for both me and wifey!
