First time here and it was excellent! The food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. The staff came back... several times to check on us. Customer service at its finest. Waitress was nice just busy, food was not good. Waited for like 20 minutes. Rice was super hard and beans were burnt. My vibe... from the kitchen was like an assembly line, no pride on what they?re cooking which eventually represents the entire restaurant.My wife an I really wanted to try this restaurant for our first time but next time we drive 3 more minutes up to Abuelos. This place is Amazing I give it 10Stars if you like old fashion mama and Pop coffee shop this will be the place to go. This a ... family own business! The food has flavor, customer service is wonderful. I love this place it's my new spot to go to. They areopen every day from Sunday to Saturday 6am - 2pm only It looks small from the outside but no it's big establishment inside theyhave seating outside also. Clean, beautiful, friendly, ...and delicious food. James' Restaurant is a step back in time, but not as a kitschy homage to... diners -- rather as a diner still doing things right, nearly 70 years later. The menu is large, and varied. The food is cookedand presented with obvious care, and the service is cheerful. You get to pay at the counter, with a real, fully functional cashregister if you use cash (do it!). I ordered the steak and egg special thinking it should be good seeing a lot of people there. Took the first bite and it tasted... rotten and old,thinking maybe it was my taste buds since I just got of the hospital having surgery.
