Had dinner here a few times and both the food and service are consistently excellent. This is such an underrated gem of a... restaurant in the Hayes/Alamo/Fillmore area. If you’re on the fence about making a reservation here, do it. It’s a bit outof the way, but worth it. Read more

If you are looking for a modest neighborhood seafood grill, then this is definitely the place for you. There is no fancy menu or... plating. But everything is guaranteed fresh and delicious. If you go before 7 pm between Wednesday and Saturday, then they wouldoffer an over the top deal of a three course meal for $17.50. Only $17.50!!! A choice of salad or soup of the day, fish of theday, and a dessert. It’s a crazy good deal especially when we all are feeling the weight of inflation everywhere. I went withmy family of four. We ordered two of the three course meal deal, and two others of our choice. I also ordered the mussels as theappetizer, only 14 dollars!! The mussels were fresh and juicy. I don’t usually like mussels but this time I have to lick myplate. They offered complimentary bread and olive oil pesto dip. I also ordered a poached pear salad. The soup of the day wasmushroom. And I remembered last time I had lobster bisque. I mean, the lobster bisque was part of the $17.50 meal deal!Unbelievable! The other day I went to a food truck and ordered a lobster bisque and they charged me $19 just for that soup! Andthe flavor was nothing compare to what Alamo Square offered. So let’s talk about the fish. They offered different ways tocook the fish. I personally prefer blackened. We had salmon, snapper and sole fish. My favorites are the salmon and snapper. They also offered a variety of sauces to go with the fish. I think the best are either the hollandaise cream sauce or the garlicbutter. I also want to say that the fish without the sauce would be just as perfect! For desserts I had the tiramisu and thecrème brûlée. Both were great choices. The tiramisu is just as good as the one I got from Italian town. The crème brûléeis huge! I also got a coffee to go with the dessert. Here is the plus: the owner is fun and kind. We chatted for a little bitand he joked about wanting to hire my husband to work there. He gave us two free upgrades for our desserts tha Read more

Really cozy restaurant with great service and food. They have a 3-course meal deal for a very good price and a nice selection of... wine. The place is cozy and intimate (just enough lightening), perfect for bringing a date or for a girls' night out. Wecelebrated my friend's birthday there and they made it super cute: I asked of they could bring a chocolate cake dessert as asurprise to her, and they did it perfectly (even with a candle on top). I recommend going for the 3 course meal deal and a redPinot wine for those who like wines on the sweet side. Read more

Recently moved to the neighborhood and was looking for a local restaurant. I was amazed at how the waiter Andre seemed to be on... a first name basis with everyone who stopped by the restaurant. I was even more impressed with the wonderful tasting food andthe great prices. Everything we had was DELICIOUS! The portions were just right. They do have some weekly specials, Wednesday isno cork fee if you order two entrees as an example. It is a very European restaurant experience (which I loved) nothing isrushed, you may wait a moment but get good conversation and attention when it comes. Highly recommend and will definitely beback. My meal was the fresh blackened salmon and it was great. Partner got shrimp risotto and was in heaven. Our escargot wasgreat starter too. Read more

We were visiting from Japan, and this was our last meal before flying back to Osaka. We stayed at the B&B across the... street. Though each table was fully occupied, the food came out in reasonable time, and the bread was warm and delicious andthe bread baskets were kept filled. The service was warm, too, and we struck up a conversation with the table next to ours. Adelicious and reasonable meal with fair portions, which we will always remember. Thank you! Read more
