We had the best anniversary dinner. Everything was beautifully plated. Amazing presentation and so so so good! You really get... what you pay for. My partner and I both got Chef’s Tasting which comes with 8 courses. We also ordered a few drinks on theside which were very good and also had a beautiful presentation. The servers were extremely attentive. They saw me strugglingto take a selfie with my partner and immediately came to the rescue and got us some amazing photos at the table. We aregenuinely in awe of the service, the food and the drinks. We also received a to go box (1each) of a small snack to take homethat includes a small jar of butter and jam and a tea bag. Went into this experience with high expectations. Considering their menu prices. Left underwhelmed. Appetizer was bland yet... beautifully plated, could’ve used salt or citrus. Steak was asked as medium rare, it came well done, the reissued steak wasmedium rare on the outside but raw next to the bone. Highlights were truffled mash and bread plate. Great waitstaff that want todo the right thing, but sadly they’re underserved by the kitchen. Read more
Photos will not do justice for this place. First of all, I am bad at taking photos and secondly, I was trying to enjoy the... evening so I forgot to take proper photos. For those who have seen my other reviews, I do not give five stars just becausethere will always be room for improvements unless I find that perfect 5 stars place amd share it with you. Alexander’s camevery close. The general area is not so bad but I will probably not walk at night around unless if I need to. The restaurant isnice inside, it is certainly a business casual type place and it is not a quiet place. Not necessarily a bad thing, you canfeel the energy and good vibes but if you want a quiet place this is not it. What makes If you are looking for steaks that aregood and cooked right, this is certainly a place you should visit! The prices are reasonable for the regular steaks and it doesget pricey when you go for the Wagyu selections BUT if you have some money to spend or celebrating, then it is certainly worththe little splurge, because the Wagyu steak is great! Well, if you stick with the starting serving of the Wagyu steaks at 3 oz.then the price is still very reasonable. Because my wife was hungry, we went up a few ounces so it drove the price up, but itis certainly very worth it!! At least to try once. I just ordered a prime rib amd it was also good and cooked right. I didtry a slice of Wagyu and it is a different level of steak! We have been to several steak houses around the Bay Area and othercities including Dallas, LA, San Diego, and Las Vegas, I will say that Alexander is at least on my top 10. Where it shines thebrightest is with its service! The moment we sat, we were given a complimentary non-alcoholic drink for my wife and I followedby a complimentary appetizer. Best date night ever!!! From our host Patrick, to the food, and ambiance. Everything was spectacular!!! I will be coming back... again! We ordered the most buttery steak ever that melted in our mouths and the best ribeye ever! The quality, the flavors, theway the food was presented was exceptional. This place is definitely over rated. If you're gonna pay the price of $200/person for the chef's prefixed menu, you expect the... food to be a tad more vibrant & flavorful. The food could've been better, majority of the dishes lacked flavor & seasoningespecially the steak (I added a bunch of salt, pepper, & some kind of beefy butter they served w/ bread onto mine just to get abit of flavor) so 2 stars were taken away. Amazing food, very curated and exceptional presentation and flavor. Amazing wine and cocktail selections! Do try the wine... pairings if you get the chefs tasting menu - the Sommelier is very knowledgeable. Special shout out to our lovely waiterAlessandro. Even in training, he provided excellent service - very proficient in his knowledge and really made our night! Themanager was also very attentive and welcoming. Think modern steakhouse atmosphere and service with a twist on the menu with japanese influences. Definitely a fine dining... experience and the price reflects that.
