The best lasagna I ever tried ????. It was strange that they automatically included a tip of 15%. But in our case it did not... cause inconvenience, we were well and fast served, everything was very tasty, so we planned to leave it anyway. I also liked thecandles in the interior, very romantic. Delicious with a beautiful atmosphere! I brout an Italian friend who said it was the most authentic Italian food she’s has... state side. We had the mushroom pasta and seafood pasta. The flavors were a knockout and paired nicely with a glass of whitewine. The owner stopped by to see how our meal was and staff were wonderful. We will be back! Read more

Outstanding - I’ve been to five or so Italian places like this in this area and I think this one left the best impression. ... Every dish was great. The only thing I didn’t like was the QR code menu (for a romantic Italian restaurant), but theyactually included detailed pictures so it was OK. Read more

Some of the best pasta in SF, and cute ambiance. However, service was some of the slowest in SF. Even with that, the food is... good enough to return often. Read more

Astonishing - Delicious - Primo, these are words I'd use to describe the food here. The staff was fantastic and the owner... stopped by our table. If you enjoy a nice meal with great atmosphere, you should stop reading this review and make your way toAmarena. Read more

TLDR: Slightly less than mediocre experience at Amarena. A few good dishes, LONG WAIT for food. Pros: Waiter was initially... friendly, we were seated seamlessly, waiter patiently walked us through the menu and drinks order came out fast. The bread andpesto served as appetizers were delicious, and I was told the truffle mushroom pasta was a delight. Cons: OUR ENTREES TOOKALMOST 1 HOUR TO GET OUT. I haven’t been to a restaurant with a kitchen this slow in a while. Would’ve left if it wasn’tfor the bread & pesto and good company I was with. Eventually, food came out and my pasta was mediocre at best. I ordered thePapardelle Al Cinghial (Fettucine w/ Boar meat) and it was meh. I had to ask for some salt (which I know is a faux pas withItalian cuisine but desperate times). Then when it was time to pay for the check, our previously gracious server disappeared! The restaurant has emptied out a bit and our server was no where to be found. Had to find another server to sort things out. Read more

Great big carb dinner before the Golden Gate Half Marathon was delicious. Truly everything was perfect, from the arugula salad... to the gnocchi to the tiramisu. Service was good. Interior was worn but homey. Read more
