This little Boudin location opens at 6am. Perfect for an early snack. I had their ham cheese croissant $4.25 and a cup of clam... chowder $7. The croissant is not bad. They don't heat it up though; you know, to melt the cheese. The clam chowder came with alittle piece of sourdough bread to dip into the soup. Quite frankly, the clam chowder at Safeway had more clams. I did enjoythis cup of chowder. There are much better clam chowder throughout the city. Boudin is good if you are in a hurry and don't wantto sit down for some soup. Service is excellent (if you know about the one person in-store policy.) Read more

Visiting SF and this place was recommended. The long loaf sourdough was perfect - crispy crust and soft interior with the... sourdough flavor we were looking for. Also enjoyed a very flavorful Ham and Swiss croissant. Five minute wait, mid afternoon ona Monday. Worth it. Read more

SF's oldest French bakery. Thick crusted, soft chewy bread in the old style. Smells great; tastes even better. Wide variety.... Several very good sandwiches, generously filled, fairly priced. Order ahead online and pick up at the door. Read more

POV: You return to your childhood neighborhood 24 hours before your birthday and feel the need to walk into the boudin you have... been going to since you were 5 years old. The door is open, so you walk in and before you can even take the first breath younaturally would take, as breathing is a sign you are alive, the nice young masked woman at the counter interrupts your inhale byasking you what you are doing here and asks you to wait outside because they serve one person at a time and she will be with youin a moment, sir/ zir/ madam, and you say ?Never mind then? and have to inform a poor old man strapping his mask on that hecan?t just walk in. It is one at a time even though the door is open. Mainly because you don?t want him to get startled when hisfirst inhale gets interrupted as well. So instead you storm off and remember the time you ordered a Papa Steve?s Pizza fromthem a few months previous and it was very good and solid and quite affordable. And you also admit to yourself it is a verysmall little place and you remember how different their pizza was in the 90s. And you realize it is 2022 and now you?re anadult, at least in numeric age, and this place is still a solid way to enjoy Sourdough and their Sough dough Pizzas are Safe, they are Ace and they are Mint. Long Live Boudin on 10th. Blessings Read more

This Boudin store located at 399 10th Ave. just off Geary Street in SF is what I would describe as a faux bakery because none of... their products is made on site. Nonetheless, it feels pleasantly nostalgic to walk into a bakery, point to the loaf or pastrythat catches your eye and then have the person behind the counter wrap it up for you, much in the same way that our grandparentswould get their daily bread back in the old analog days. I got delivery through Doordash from here and ordered a soup and sandwich for $11.50 and a sausage and pepperoni pizza for... $12.95 The soup and sandwich only gave me the option to get clam chowder so that's what I got. For the sandwich, I got 1/2 of aroast beef sandwich. The clam chowder was very good and was a decent portion. The sandwich was also a good portion and tastedgood but I opened the sandwich to find a slice of cheese that looked like it had been ripped not sliced. The bell peppers on thesausage and pepperoni pizza made it look fun and lively and the taste was okay. However, the crust was very tough and I had toreally trying to rip it with my teeth to bite into it. Also, the edge of the pizza was hard as nails. Another thing, the pizzawas an 8 inch pizza for over $12. The toppings were tasty though. The soup was also tasty. The sandwich was fine. The pizza wasdreadful. Three stars out of five for the whole experience. If want to order from Boudin, get the chowder in a sourdough breadbowl. It's what they're known for and what they're phenomenal at. You might be disappointed with their other offerings but Ipromise that you won't be disappointed with the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. Read more
