Came to celebrate our anniversary here on a Sunday night. The waitstaff was super friendly and attentive, I can’t say enough... good things about how great the staff was. Unfortunately the food was just ok. We order oysters and the 3 course meal. Theescargot and the salmon trio were good, though nothing stood out as amazing. The fresh bread was great. The crust was so crunchyand the inside was steamy and fluffy. We paid extra for the filet, which was cooked perfectly medium rare. Unfortunately theduck confer cassoulet was dry and not very flavorful. Desserts were good but you can’t really go wrong with crèmebrûlée. For $65, the 3 course was definitely worth it. I would come back here again if I’m ever in the mood for French food. Read more

Best French restaurant in San Francisco- An authentic, sophisticated French restaurant with absolutely savory and delicious... food. Pictured are the dishes we had- Hors d'oeuvre- Trio of Salmon and Salade Landaise, both perfectly executed-the frisee wasseasoned wonderfully and the Trio of Salmon was the best salmon tartare I have ever had- it included gravlax and salmon roesalong with roasted capers, egg crumbles and cream fraiche. Plat Principal: Toulouse style cassoulet with duck confit andmushroom risotto, both were fantastic and cooked to perfection. Dessert: We both had the profiteroles, easily one of thetastiest desserts I have ever had, perfectly executed, not overly sweet, highly satisfying. Read more

We had a lovely experience in this beautiful and quaint french restaurant. We had the 3 course dinner with wine. The food was... excellent. We had onion soup, fresh beet salad, mushroom risotto, duck confit, salmon and an array of delicious desserts. Theduck came on a bed of cannelloni beans and it was delicious. Everything was well prepared and delicious. The main chef also metus at the end of the evening. We loved this cosy restaurant and are looking forward to going back again. The only downside wasfinding parking which took more time than expected. Read more

Came in here last night for dinner. It was a Friday evening so had reserved in advance. I have so much to tell about this place... so I’ll split it into three parts. 1. Service We were driving from South Bay and was easily at least 30 minutes late. When wecalled to inform, we were greeted so kindly and were told to not rush and that they would hold the table for us! This felt sosincere and caring, and got us in a good mood already. On arrival, we were immediately taken to our table. It was alreadypacked, so we were surprised that they held the table for so long. During the dinner too, the service was top-notch. Each foodwas carefully prepared only after we were done with our appetizer. 5/5 2. Food I’m not a French food expert but the food wasso good, we left feeling happy. We had escargot, mesclun salad, soup a l’oignon, and filet mignon. Everything was delicious, meat was tender and juicy and left us feeling pretty full. For dessert, we ordered their French toast. I have never had Frenchtoast as a dessert after dinner but boy am glad I didn’t miss this. The bread just melted in my mouth. 5/5 3. Ambience Forthe price range, you’d expect a fancier ambience. But it’s very casual. The space was small, so it felt crowded and was verynoisy, just like other reviews had mentioned. There was no music, so maybe that made it worse? Not sure. Ambience gets a3/5 But I’d still give it a 5/5 overall just because the food and the service left us feeling so happy - the way you’d feelafter watching a really good movie. Would definitely be visiting this place again! Read more

Chapeau! is definitely the top pick during SF restaurants week. The 3 course dinner is beyond my expectations. We randomly... picked up appetizers, entrees and desserts from the menu. Each course is delicious and more than enough for me. Waiters are veryfriendly. Read more

Every single bite here was amazing. The service was wonderful. The bartender took our drink orders, the chef brought our entrees... with a twinkle in his eye, the server nailed the wine pairings, and the dessert chef blew our minds with a magical take onfrench toast. We were so busy enjoying it we only took one photo! This place was an absolute treat and I cannot recommend itenough! Read more

Oysters were good. The french onion soup was okay. The cassoulet was fine, the chicken in it was just not fresh. I was hoping... the desert would end the meal on a high note, but the french toast was atrocious. The bread tasted spoiled. We also tried thecreme brûlée and it was quite possibly one of the worst I’ve had. There are many better french restaurants in the city. Read more
