100% Vegan Mexican food that has an expanded menu built by an educated chef who knows how to blend ingredients that really bring... out the best of plant based food. The trendy restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating (only a couple tables outdoors) andreservations made getting a table super quick upon arrival. MENU ITEMS: Start with a drink because the menu has a full page ofcocktails that include tequila, mezcal, and all sorts of unique beverages. Their house margarita offers a flavor of the week(the night I went it was watermelon and strawberry). Next time I need to try the horchata as it is rare to find a dairy freehorchata. Appetizers all looks amazing and I ended up ordering the quesadilla. Turns out it is two quesadillas, each a sizelarge enough to feed two people. And the spicy cashew nacho cheese sauce is out of this world. They really made this with a lotof thought and flavor. For the main course I ordered the tacos filled with jackfruit and spiced accordingly with what I assumeis chipotle. These were normal taco size (not street taco size) and the black bean side that came with it was delicious (I wishthere was more of the black bean side!). Finally for dessert I tried the pumpkin cake, which looked like a mini Bundt cake &had a scoop of (coconut based) ice cream on top. It was so good and definitely worth saving for the end. Read more

Dined at the trendiest vegan restaurant in the Mission District in SF! I’ve been here many times and I’ve been meaning to... leave a review. I loved this spread from Gracias Madre. If you haven’t tried their vegan tacos, you’ll be surprised howgood and filling they can be! Plantains, jackfruit, you name it. Everything from the rice to the enchiladas were amazing. Therestaurant has an authentic Mexican vibe to it. They have a fun outdoor seating area, but I personally love the indoor onebetter. I just love the decor and vibe when you dine in. There’s also a gorgeous mural on the walls right outside. If you’relooking for a trendy vegan spot in the Mission, this is it! Read more

Good service and friendly staff in this place. Food is good, with a good variety, and average prices. The tables near the... entrance will make you feel the cold air rushing in each time the door is opened. Read more

I'm going to try to be constructive in my criticism, and always taking into account that our servers were exceptionally... friendly. To start with it took a while to get a table, that's usually a good sign. So we ordered guacamole with chips, and atthe table there are two salsas a red one and a green. The chips and the guacamole were very expensive in my opinion consideringthe amount of guacamole was very small. ($12) The chips were also not that good, and the red salsa tasted a little fizzy. I gotthe ginger soda and the smallest little glass arrived mostly ice, with the homemade ginger soda. It took only a few sips andthat glass was downed pretty quick, along with $6. In the pictures you will see the regular burrito and the tamales with mole. Both plates were pretty much the worst tasting Mexican food we have ever experienced. Both myself and my daughter came to theconclusion that if you go to any one of the taquerias nearby you will pay one third the amount but you will have authentic food.I understand that this is an alternative vegetarian restaurant but there are so many ways to make those products or ingredientstaste better. All of the plates are above $18 and honestly I can't understand why anyone would pay that. Drinks were above 16bucks. A better alternative would be to go to an actual Mexican restaurant and just choose the vegetarian version, ask for thepinto beans instead of the refried beans, make sure you get corn tortillas so you avoid any animal fat.... And when your billcomes you will have enough to spend at least two more meals. Read more

If you want the worst possible meal in San Francisco, then this is the place for you. Wow, I consider myself a foodie, but I... think Mexican food is hard to mess up. Somehow they made it happen, amazing. Some of the worst chips I've ever had, greasy andrancid. The green salsa was good but in no way spicy. The red sauce was fermented and had gone bad. My dad got a $16 drink thatwas TINY. I'm sure it wasn't terrible, but at that price? That tiny cup was an insult, especially with the amount of ice it had.His burrito was bland and boring. I got a mole tamale. The mole sauce was actually good, but the inside was awful. Vegetariandoesn't have to mean unseasoned. Speaking of seasoning, the potatoes on my plate were insanely over-salted. They also seemed drydue to reheating, as if they had been made earlier in the day and been heated up before serving. The beans were a black, uniformmush. Bad. The pico the gallo had CUCUMBER in it?? I'm sorry, what??? The service was good, attentive. They seemed overworked, the space is too big to pay attention to every customer properly, but they tried. My chair was hella wonky and creaky. I'd bemore lenient if it wasn't a place with $20 plates. Bathroom smelled and was also subpar in terms of facilities. Seriously. If Iwere anywhere else, I wouldn't bat an eye. I'm south american for godssake, I'm used to things being a mess, but this was SOEXPENSIVE. Where is this money going? Awful management, bad menu. They need to rethink these dishes in terms of the vegetablethat takes a spotlight. I've had pumpkin mole tamales that are amazing, why not something like that? Vegetarian food needs tofocus on the vegetable, and treat it like any other meat protein. When you get tacos, you get al pastor, or carnitas, or carneasada. The focus is the main protein. Do that with a specific vegetable, build the dish around it Anyways. If you want to wasteyour money and wait for a table, go here. If you want to eat well, cross the street and wa Read more

We went on a Saturday night. It is preferable to get a reservation to avoid long wait times. We ordered the gordiotos and fried... cauliflower for appetizers, the tamale and flautas for mains and mocha cheesecake and flan for desserts to go. The appetizersand mains were very tasty. We also ordered two cocktails one passion fruit based mojito and another mezcal based drink. Thecocktails were really good and had a good balance of flavors. The fried cauliflower and the gorditos( fried potato masa cakes)were really tasty. The butternut squash based tamale was really tasty as well. It had a good balance of sweetness from thesquash along with the spices from the harbanero tomato sauce. The flautas were really tasty as well. We only ordered the mochacheesecake for dessert , but the hostess bought an additional flan as well. We decided not to return the flan. But overall thefood and the service was really good. Read more

Came here due to the good reviews. I had the cauliflower taco which was bland until I added the red sauce. I ate the nachos... which were fresh and good but not to my liking as they seemed to be fried wheat nachos ( I prefer corn). The bartender who wasvery polite recommended a spicy soup. It was very watery and not too filling for the cost. I feel maybe I ordered the wrongstuff but I was disappointed. Read more
