Little Delhi is a great choice among downtown eateries because of its proximity to the Theatre District and to Union Square.... Service was friendly and efficient. Considering how outrageously priced some restaurants in that area have become, Little Delhiis a breath of fresh air. The portions served here were large and delicious. We may even have over-ordered because we ended upwith leftovers. They would have made a great next day lunch, if we did not have theatre tickets for immediately afterdinner. Our party of two started with an assorted Tandoori platter, a huge plate of lamb, chicken, fish, and onions. We orderedtwo mango lassis to accompany our meal. For our main plates, we had the lamb saag, lamb cooked in spinach; and bengan bharta,roasted eggplant mixed with peas and onions. To accompany these dishes, we requested a plate of basmati rice, a basket of onionnaan, and a side of mango chutney. We topped our dinner by splitting a kulfi, a kind of Indian ice cream. Our entire meal cameto less than $50 per person, tax and tip included. Little Delhi appeared to be doing a brisk takeout and delivery business aswell, so we think this restaurant would be a good option for visitors to San Francisco who are staying at nearby hotels. Food is amazing! Truly one of my favorites in San Francisco and maybe the best Indian food I have ever had! Management seriously... needs to pull it together with the inconsistency in hours and closed days. Google maps and Apple Maps say open, yelp says closedpost mates let’s you order than says closed and nobody picks up the phone. They could at least update the website I’massuming they pay for or at least utilize the answering service that’s says “mailbox not set up” or something to thatnature. Again…FOOD IS RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING…simple management communication with loyal customers is the problem. Please fixthe problem (has been a problem for YEARS) so I can update to 5 stars! Read more
Awesome food. Real Indian taste. Portions were good enough. Hot and spicy as it should be :) Edit: visited this place after 6... months. The prices are noticably increased. Had a great place eating at this restaurant. We reached 5 min before kitchen closing but they let us be seated and took our... order. We ordered roti (bigger than most restaurants), vegetable malai kofta and vegetable biryani and raita. For dessert weordered rasmalai. We ordered medium spice level which was a little too hot for us so you might want to be conservative there ifyou don’t like spicy. Rest was all great! The food was good and the staff was super patient and nice. All in all a greatexperience. Read more

For me, the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to (and I've been to lots). The paneer tandoori is amazing, but I like... everything I've ever tried. I'm a vegetarian. This place actually burnt down (!) and was rebuilt and reopened. It's more modernlooking now, but the prices are still great and the food is the best. I was very happy when I saw it was back!
