This is one of our favorite sushi joint - the fish is high quality tastes super fresh and it’s great value for money compared... to omakase joints in SF. Able to hold its own in Japan town. Read more

We each ordered the Sushi Moriawase - 7 omakase nigiri and 1 futomaki roll. It doesn’t take much convincing to get me to go... for sushi but stumbling upon quality sushi is not always guaranteed. Read more

Early Sushi Vibes While Omakase and dinner-only Oma Station gets more views, the team behind Hinata has a quiet hit in the more... accessible Sasa Located in the heart of Japantown, Sasa sits on the second floor of the Japan Center East Mall A fantasticprice point, diverse offerings and casual ambiance makes this spot a winner for bar seating and table dining alike We sampledthe signature mystery box and chef’s nigiri and loved it all ???? Sushi Tasting $40 ~ 10 pc chef’s choice / Mystery Box$48 ~ 9 mini Chirashi bowls / Uni Spoon $15 ~ uni with Negitoro, ikura, caviar / Chawanmushi $10 ~ steamed egg custard w/ crabdashi / Shishito pepper $8 ~ grilled Shishito peppers topped w/itogaki flakes / Miso Soup ????Sasa Japanese Restaurant (SanFrancisco, CA) Read more

We stumbled upon this place on our last visit to Japan town. We weren’t sure what to expect and it ended up being a real... treat. The actual dining area is absolutely beautiful and I love the calm that all the natural elements provide. The sushiitself was very high quality and there are so many things that we are excited to go back and try. Not your everyday sushi menu. Read more

We went there in a group of six. It’s okay they had to charge a mandatory 20% of service fees. But it was NOT okay to charge... it automatically on top of post-sales-tax and SF employee support fees all together. Some waiter clarified that they wouldcharge it pre-tax. The other came with a different answer and said they couldn’t change how the machine calculated. Be awareof this. Food was okay and portion was smaller than we expected. Also, they don’t have a restroom inside the restaurant andyou need to use the ones in the Japantown mall. They close at 10pm and the servers didn’t warn us about this!! They do parkingvalidation but it didn’t cover the whole time (maybe only an hour or two and their service was slow). Read more

Nigiri is authentic and is truly amazing. Fresh fish, great texture, beautiful fillets... Also, skewered chicken is delicious. I... was born and raised in Japan and moved to the states 5 years ago. I had never been satisfied with sushi abroad but now I foundthis place! Personally, it was lucky to find my favorite Japanese red snapper as it is very hard to find authentic one. I reallyenjoyed foods here, and I'd definitely revisit this place. Read more
