Sociale is one of the gems of San Francisco. Great food, service and ambiance. It's not cheap but it is worth it. We had the... seared scallops that were delicious. We also had butternut squash ravioli, the braised short ribs and the linguine with clams, all cooked perfectly and with a lot of flavor. For dessert we had the chocolate banana bread pudding that was amazing. Highlyrecommended. Read more

Everything about the dining experience was great. I have to start by saying their patio is one of the best in the city. You walk... between two buildings from Sacramento Street to get to the restaurant. The patio is set up in front of the restaurant itself, surrounded buy the other buildings and with retractable awnings. It has always been a part of the restaurant and reminds me ofrestaurants in Florence with full dining areas out front. The waitstaff was helpful in catering the wine selections to ourtastes. We ate the scallops, duck pappardelle, and game hen with brussel sprouts and I would recommend all of those dishes.Often since the pandemic I have run into issues at fine dining establishments with either service or food quality, but nothinglike that occurred here, just a perfect evening with great food. Had a wonderful dinner at Sociale last week. We ordered the following appetizers (all 5*)- burrata, soup, fig salad, and fried... olives. Olives were a little too salty for my liking but others in my party enjoyed them. Main course- artichoke ravioli, picibolognese, rigatoni, and pappardelle with braised duck. While all of them were delicious, braised duck pasta was the best! Theirbeautiful patio coupled with top notch service was a treat. They are also taking required precautions during this pandemic. I just recently discovered Sociale and had the pleasure of having an 'al fresco' lunch this past weekend. Not only the food was... SUPERB and authentic, but also our server Steve was exceptional and made us feel right at home (grazie mille!) We enjoyed thesignature dish (duck pappardelle), rigatoni all'amatriciana, chocolate cake with EVO (so yummy) and a bottle fo Ferrari Brutbubbles from Trento, Italy. Everything was absolutely excellent! As an Italian expat in SF, I can most definitely recommendedSociale and can't wait to be back. Read more

Stephanie, our hostess, greeted us with warmth and smile. Steve is one of the best servers we have had in the city to date!... Always professional and courteous. Their Som, Josh, has a great taste for wine. Knowledgeable without pretense. Sebastian is awonderful attendant to back these two. A real joy to sit outside when the weather is good. Highly recommended. This apple cideris a must. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Read more

Visited this restaurant because acquaintance (a regular) highly recommended it. 3 1/2 stars to be exact. Truly feels that this... restaurant is over-rated, based on the taste of the dishes. Staff was no doubt courteous and professional; atmosphere wasn'tbad. Presentation of the dishes looked good. The Fried Olives was interesting. The Wagyu Braised Short Rib was excellent. Butthe other dishes, like the fish and pork, fell short of expectations. Also, wait time for the food was a bit too long. Read more
