Friendly speedy service, competitively priced. Ordered the Tads Special steak, thought it could have had more seasoning to it... but otherwise good. Real mashed potatoes which was a nice surprise. Wings were delicious as well. Short glass mango Margaritawas tasty. Read more

A solid diner-style experience. The term “steakhouse” is a little misleading: this is definitely a hedge fund manager’s... vision of an urban diner. The food is decent, the prices are good, the staff are nice, and there’s a lot of variety. But ifyou’re expecting the steakhouse experience, or a lot of steak-related options, this is not that. We came here for dinner andthen breakfast the next day— an overall solid, affordable spot. Read more

Last time I ate here it was in a different location and possibly under different management. This location is right next to a... parking garage which is really convenient. The atmosphere is really nice and cozy. When you walk in you see them grilling on theleft. You place your order upfront (all payments accepted). They have either the ny strip or ribeye. They have chicken too. Theordering process is efficient. Place your order (which comes with two sides of your choice), pay and be provided a numberedpager and tray with anything that's already ready. Now choose your seat and a server will bring your meal to your table. So inthat aspect it's a good system. Now where it falls short... let's start by saying I am really accustomed to Tads Steakhousesince I was a child. Growing up we had 3 in NYC! In which I've dined at all of them over the years. Sadly, that era has come toan end and they are no more . Now, when they served you a steak they would top it with an au just sauce (no steak sauce needed)and MELTED butter! But here, there is no au jus sauce and definitely no melted butter (blasphemous lol). They do however offerregular butter and garlic butter to top the steak. Also, NYC Tad's provides you with a long buttery piece of garlic bread whichhad the right amount of salted butter flavor. This place gives you "garlic" bread which seems to lack any real garlic butterflavor... and let me reiterate, NO MELTED BUTTER to pour over it... *sigh* lmao... I don't know.. is it too hard to create anice natural sauce topping from beef juice? Is it too hard to melt butter and have it on the side in case others may like itdrizzled on their steak and/or bread. Perhaps I'm a spoiled New Yorker but I believe others would also enjoy this and thisspot would be even better than it is now! Read more

Their jalapeño wings are delicious! I always get the sautéed spinach also. Their omelet is super fulfilling. I feel like... everything on their menu is good. Read more

I don't know how good of a steakhouse Tad is, but it's definitely a wonderful diner for breakfast! I ordered a simple two-egg... breakfast with some coffee and a beer patty; wanted to try at least some of that steak. The eggs were fluffy, the toast wasfresh, and the patty was juicy. All in all, a proper breakfast. They also have a cocktail bar with plenty of options; had itnot been the early morning I'd have loved to try it out. Pretty solid diner, all things considered. Good enough that we returned for breakfast the day after having lunch. My sister said the coffee wasn’t good. Coffee good... enough for me and so was the food. “Famous” steak dinner for lunch and then breakfast “San Francisco Omelette”. Goodlocation convenient to Union Square. I’d have rated 4-star but for the coffee. Read more

The new Tad's location on Eddy is a huge improvement. Sleek and modern with a sports bar atmosphere (5 large tvs) and some... outdoor seating (covered) with heaters. The bar itself is small. You still order in a line-up, food is brought to uour table. Definitely a good place for large groups. The food is good, about what you'd expect, a decent value for the area. My hamburgerpatty was frozen but with good char grilled flavor, hash browns frozen but made with real butter, sour dough toast wasn't asfresh as it should be. If you want better diner food, the Pinecrest Diner nearby is better but a little bit in pricier. Iwould still recommend both. Service was excellent. New ownership and/or management is clearly evident. Read more

Not too far from Union Square, it's a good place cafeteria-style for a casual bite. You order and pay at the front and then the... food is brought to your table. We went there to have breakfast. It is a bit pricey but since the portions are large, you cantotally share. We had the Rooster omelette (which comes with hash brown potatoes and two toasts) and some garlic bread as a sidedish. The omelette was absolutely delicious and the hash browns were very crispy. Unfortunately, the garlic bread was insipidand had no taste of garlic. Nevertheless, I'd come again. Read more
