A friend of mine took me to this highly rated bakery. When we arrived there was a line up out the door of patrons waiting to buy... bread and pastry delights. It is a small establishment, but extremely popular, so items sell out quickly. The pastries aredelicious! Don't miss an opportunity to check out their delightful baked goods. Read more

This is a must stop if you?re looking for fresh pasties and bakery items. We had to try a few things and none of them... disappointed. The quiche was so delicious and the carrot was a surprise to. It must be pickled or something as the flavor has alittle kick to it. I would highly highly recommend coming here. Be prepared to wait. There was a line out the door! They dohave options to order ahead and pick up. They offer coffee and cappuccinos here as well. Read more

Besides this place having great reviews has its hits and misses. We got the savory scone, the chocolate croissant, the morning... bun and the bread pudding. The scone was basically just a buttermilk biscuit with a sprinkle of vegetable dust on top. It wasdefinitely more on the savory side with a slight pepper kick, but nothing i would get again. The chocolate croissant was veryelegant, crispy outside with a soft flaky inside and a bittersweet to bakers chocolate center. The morning bun was a very tastytwist on a normal cinnamon bun. It had a lemon accent added to the cinnamon sugar dusting, this made each and every bite standout (mostly due to my head not expecting lemon with the cinnamon, but if you have ever had galaktoboureko its a good comparisonfor this contrast). Lastly the bread pudding was delicious, just the right amount of custard with the bread. The only complaintI can have with it is that there are two many berries which is all you can taste if you have berries in your spoon. Read more

Awesome bakery with nice people! A cozy outdoor space by the street and very tiny indoor space for seating. Their hop sandwiches... are big and shareable if you are not very hungry. Their pastrami is the best. Their hot drinks are great, too! Their breads areawesome! Visiting SF? Then you must check this place out! Read more

If you are staying afar and are wondering if it?s worth the trip, wonder no more. Great coffee, great pasties, croissants done... right. Do try the morning bun, you won?t regret it. If you are a first timer, don?t expect to get seats right away. Be flexibleto share tables and chairs. Read more

Finally at Tartine! The pastries were good, but not exceptional. The eclair somehow tasted quite average to me as the bitter... chocolate doesnt gel well with the cream. The croissants are generally good but a bit too crunchy and lacked chewiness andmoisture. Price is good and service was very warm. Read more

I was told the croissants are amazing so I took a walk to find out. I bought plain croissants in order to have the true... experience without added pizazz. I bought coffee as well. The coffee was good. The croissant, tho? It was the best croissantI?ve ever had. Lots and lots of other pastries as well. Ran out before I bought more! Read more

Just adding to the thousands of previous reviews of how awesome Tartine is. Things to note: prepare for long lines. You can... order ahead and skip the line for pick up. No seating or eating indoors right this moment. Pastries: - I fully recommend theAlmond Croissant and the Lemon Tart. The Almond Croissant is made so right - crunchy outer crust, stuffed with almond pastefilling and topped with toasted almonds. Can't compare a true almond croissant to the machine made stuff you get from placeslike Starbucks. The Lemon Tart was a pleasant surprise because I don't usually like tart things but this tart had the perfectbalance of tartness and lightness and creaminess. It was not overpowering and the texture was just so right. - The Morning Bunwas just OK for me. Looked and sounded better than tasted. - The Jam Bun was also OK. I did like the cream in the middle butwish there was more of it. The Hot Chocolate was OK - chocolate flavor was mild and not too sweet. The temperature was luke warmso I wish it was a bit hotter. Still, a perfect start to my day. Read more
