I haven?t been to a bar with friends drinking in years. I met some techie friends at Trick Dog and had my annual, half strength... Makers Mark sour. It may have been full strength but took a minute to make and included the requisite egg yolk. It wasdelicious. I spoke to a nice lady while waiting for a ginger ale and she had a green drink she couldn?t name "I?ll have that butwith rum" but which was the best drink she ever had. She said it was part of their specialty menu. I like this place. Mostly upmarket crowd. A nice doorman. Hard to be seen at the bar in a hoodie, but nice enough. This place was suggested by our local friend. unique name for sure and so is the place. One thing that attracted us the most... before we got there was their poetic drinks menu. The owner has curated a poem for every drink that describes them verycreatively. They also have a regular menu but would suggest you to read the poems. Every drink has a unique flavour andpresentation that is not something you would find in other bars. The bartenders are really fun. Don?t expect to ask for anythingoff the menu as they don?t do that. It was pretty warm inside and our friends would keep going out to get some air. Don?t knowif that?s a usual or was it just that day. This review is for cocktails only. There are may craft cocktail bars in SF you can go to. This is one of them. Located near... the edge of the mission, this small yet mighty speakeasy packs an impressive punch with a nice line up of drinks you can choosefrom. There is seating outside, and on the bottom floor. They do have an upper level, typically open on weekends. The insideis dark, just like it should be and it can get noisy, yet with all that we went through these that?s two years, you want that.That noise is other people having a good time enjoying their drinks, just like you will. Note: the bathrooms are share betweenTrick Dog and Penny Roma, and if the kitchen closes you can go next door, get dessert and bring it back. Read more
Guys this establishment is amazing!!! I've been going here since about 2016 and I love their rotating menu and how they support... the local community. The drinks are always unbelievable and I am so happy that they have been able to reopen. Their current menuis where do we go from here and has amazing food and drink options. Trick Dog is one of my faves. Stopped in for a pre-dinner drink and then a post-dinner drink. Great vibe, good music, nice... bartenders and super helpful front-door guy! Highly recommend for drinks and/or a casual bite to eat. Read more
