We came for lunch, and waited patiently at the hostess stand over around 10 mins with no one offering to seat us or tell us to... seat ourselves. There was a bartender tending to the bar and (seemingly) purposefully did not help either. We saw only one busperson on the floor the entire time (no servers or hostesses) and he avoided looking at us and kept his back to us the entiretime. Finally my spouse went up to him and waiting patiently until he finished helping an already seated customer to ask him toseat us, but he quickly turned his back and started to walk away. Finally my spouse said ?Sir can we be seated?, and the guysnorted ?yeah? and kept on going. Were we supposed to seat ourselves? There was no sign indicating we do so, and in the pastthey have always seated you and brought menus. The guy did not bring us menus or give any indication that he was interesting inserving us, so we walked out and went somewhere else, where they greeted is at the door, seated us promptly and happily took ourorder. We live in Willow Glen and have been coming John?s for over 25 years. It?s been primarily the same staff for years, yetmost of them treat us like it?s the first time they ever saw us in their lives. The food is good, but not worth the indifferentservice we usually receive. We probably won?t be back anytime soon. It?s a shame they don?t seem to want our money. Read more
Went on Labor Day.. plenty of space with indoor and outdoor seating.. good food.. really liked the hot chocolate and pancakes!
What a disappointment- terrible service and greasy food! I have no idea how this place got 4.5 stars. First it took forever to... get our drinks and our food. The bar tender was chit chatting with some folks at the bar while our server was prioritizingpeople sitting outside VS inside. The manager apologized at the end that the food took a while because they were busy - therestaurant was half full. I?ve worked in the restaurant industry for 4 yrs and could tell that the kitchen and servers are nottrained at all. First if you have a table with children, you need to make sure the kids get the food first and not last,especially if you hear a child complaining he/she is very hungry. Second, don?t let the alcoholic drinks to stay at the bar andhave the bar tender help out with serving them especially if the server is so called busy. I?ve asked for the status of ourdrinks at least twice. The food was very greasy - I ordered greek combination plate and all I tasted was butter and olive oil.Don?t waste your time and money at this place. Great atmosphere? Friendly staff across the board? they make you feel welcome, and always striving to provide quality service.... If You?re not sure on what to order, they do not hesitate to recommend their mist popular plates. If you?re jot satisfied theygo out if their way to maje things right. Failed in love with this place. Really cant tell you much because i m completelyamazed with their service, their food and polite staff. They sure showed sense if urgency serving their patrons. Read more
First place here , I enjoyed the grilled cheese with bacon and Greek lemon soup . Very tasty and the waitress was very... attentive. Parking was good you have plenty of option on the street . They have a nice size bar as well. Seating inside andoutside . Plenty of it . Read more

The food was out of flavors. It was my first time there and I won't go back for the food again. I will rank the food 4 or 5 out... of 10. The beer???? was awesome. I forgot its name but it had added shot. Rank: 10 out of 10 to the drink. The owner was supernice, polite and friendly. These 3 stars mainly belong to her excellent customer service, however the employees were notwelcoming at all. I prefer not mentioning our bad experience with the employees attitude in detail. My family and I went to John's and saw quite the difference in atmosphere, not to mention the changes the inside. We didn't... realize a live bad was playing at the front, so we sat at the far back as we could, but even though the band was playing goodmusic, we couldn't hear each other. In the end, the food was mediocre at best as well as my wife's...we have been going toJohn's for almost 20 years, not sure if we will be back. Read more
