There is 2 Krung Thai but I always go to this one. The other one is always too crowded. This is the original Krung Thai and as... long as you don?t care about fancy decor, the food is almost the same. Food come out fast. It?s consistent in flavor. Thewaiter always know our name and know exactly what we want to order. Get the coconut ice cream when you?re here. Read more

The Tom Yum soup was amazing but the fried rice was a bit lacking...good but not as flavorful as others that I've had. The... Penang Curry was outstanding... It's a nice authentic setting. But the lady who was taking my order was short with me, impatientand didn't want to suggest anything. I'm Asian so I can differentiate cultural nuance from attitude. Not everyone who comes inknows what they want. Now I tend to look elsewhere for Thai food...I'll probably still come by, but just for takeout. Read more

Definitely one of my faves. Had the moo kra theim and basil chili garlic, yum. The string beans with chili,93a on the menu, is... also excellent. Went back a couple nights ago, mango and sticky rice was in ay, super yummy. Read more

If this is the original, does that imply there are others? Is original always better? Was there some sort of disagreement that... took place? Is this all a marketing scheme? Isn?t there a krung thai with in 5 miles? So many questions, and only one mouth toask and to eat. Find out the answers to these questions and more when you visit the restaurant Read more

Hmm this is not best place in town, talking about Thai food. Places is packed. Service is better than other Thai. Food is good.... Could be better and more flavorful yes. There are better Thai in San Jose definitely. But it?s a good place. They have a lot ofoptions. Service is good. Pet friendly. Read more

It has been a few years since we've been here ( was a stable on our selected list of great restaurants ). Today is Tuesday, at... 6:45pm, they had 5-6 tables and very good take out business. The shrimp soup was delicious (5 shrimp), the beef and basil sauce( spicy ) was average, meat too lean, cut into thin slices and over cooked, so it was chewy. The eggplants with fried tofu (medium spicy ) was in almost identical sauce as the beef dish. Aside from 8-10 slivers of bellpepper, there was no different.Eggplants were good, but the tofu was not tasty, it tasted old/ stale. So soup 8, beef dish 6 and eggplant dish 6 on a scale of1-10. 10 being the best, this the original Krungthai has always been B+ or A-. It's now B at best, time to look for anothergreat Thai restaurant for me. Read more

Very busy during dinner time, had to wait quite a while. But the food was great. Fried tofu was decent. I ordered the Thai basil... it was phenomenal!!. My partner ordered cashew chicken that was also quite good. Would definitely recommend if visiting thisarea and live thai food, or are wanting to experiment with new cuisine. My only complaint is I wish the portions were a littlelarger. Read more
