Ordered a Curry Katsu and rice for $15.95+tips to go around 6:09 pm. When we go home 7:45 pm, my son told me the Katsu was... not chewable. I tasted it, it was really hard to bite. It is worse than jerky. I called the restaurant around 8:30 pm. They putme on hold back n forth multiple times. The lady eventually told me they will make a new one and asked me to pick up. I told herI don't want to go out again, could they offer refund or partial refund. Surprisingly, she told me firmly they don't do refund.What a nice customer service. I havent been here in a long time, after a bad experience with freshness. That was 6+ years ago. I believe there might have been... a management change. Now they have the place remodeled, the staff is absolutely great. The sushi chefs are on-it with accuracyand time. They have a lot of the same rolls I love, with some new/revamped rolls as well. This was by far the best sushi experience I've ever had in my life! We had Matthew as our server and I can't tell you what a... pleasure it was to chat with him and what he added not only to our day but also to the meal. It was a little busy and yet healways had a smile and took time to connect with us. As if we were really special! We didn't have to wait or ask for anything!He introduced us to some new flavors. His recommendations were on point. He knows his stuff! You can tell he loves his line ofwork. I cannot believe such a gem is tucked away in this little strip mall in San Marcos! Matthew alone was worth every minuteand every dime! However the food was also so delicious! It was fresh, it looked beautiful and we left feeling extremely full,(we ended up having to take some home) not only physically but also in spirit.
