Music is so upbeat can't go wrong with oldies! Love the inside front sectioned off seating by the open windows. The gorgeous... and gracious manager made up for the waiters faux pau of forgetting me. Food was off tonight compared to other locations, Bbqchicken pizza sauce was a bit too sweet and dough was not flat but not fresh and springy as usual. Cheese lasagna was bland.Caesar salad dressing was not good as it was just 7 months ago. Forgot to try the wings. Understandably restaurants are changingfood wholesalers so the quality and taste may diminish. Probably will not return to this location unless there are changes.. Read more
Love the pizza here with the wood fired thin crust. Meat lasagna is awesome as well.
Ordered a family-sized chicken Caesar salad at $25 + tax only to discover it was the size of a regular clear plastic to-go... container. In addition, they left out the chicken and I had to return to the busy downtown location on Father's day evening tohave them correct the order. 15 minutes for them to add the missing chicken with no apology. Amici's pizza never disappoints! They always have the best pizza options. The crusts are some of my favorites. I dined outside... with my pets. The staff was so friendly and attentive (they even brought out water bowls for my cats). They gave greatrecommendations. I am looking forward to returning! Read more
I got a kale and chicken pizza- it was great! A little spicy, lots of toppings, interesting pine nuts added. A unique pizza that... hit home! The bottom wasn?t burnt but there were burnt crumbs, so it seems like maybe they could clean their ovens morefrequently. As someone who grew up on the east coast, I approve this place. Read more
If you New York style pizzas (very thin crust), this is the place. They are on the pricier side but it is well worth the extra... bucks. The pastas, salads and desserts are good but nothing special. This location is in downtown San Mateo which means streetparking can be difficult. My suggestion is to park in the public parking garages. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available.Definitely go for the pizzas. Read more
UPDATE: manager reached out to apologize/try to resolve issue. Haven't gone back yet... Every Flipping Time. So there is one... pizza that my mom really likes at this place. That's why we go. Everytime she orders it, we specify no parsley. Everytime itstill comes with parsley. It doesn't matter what proactive steps are taken. This time there was even a note on the receipt tohave it inspected by a manager. Either they didn't check or didn't care. #fail. Thankfully it's just a flavor thing and not afood allergy issue...
