This review is long overdue. We've been coming here since the beginning of the year, and it's always a great experience. The... food is excellent, and the service is top-notch. They have a wide variety of tarts and breakfast/lunch choices. We tend to comehere either early (before 1130am) or after lunch because the line is usually out the door. The best part about this spot is theparking is right behind the building with an entrance right next to the cafe. Do yourself a favor and try it out! Read more
A great restaurant for the late breakfast or brunch. Here you can find a wide selection of toasts, specials, bakery and... desserts. We tried Morning Breakfast Croissant and Smoked Salmon Toast. Both dishes were delicious. Good portions, toast andcroissant were crispy, and all ingredients in dishes went well together. For dessert, we ordered a Triple Chocolate Mousse, andwe were also satisfied with it taste. The dessert was delicate and balanced in sugar. Read more
Went to tea time for a Bridal Shower and it was perfect in every way! Not only was the tea served in beautiful glassware/ china,... but it tasted delicious and everything in the food towers was so good! The staff was also very friendly and accommodating of ourlarge group. Highly recommend! Read more
In A Nutshell: -Foreigner is a restaurant in downtown San Mateo that serves up some good food. -I strolled through here looking... for breakfast & they did not disappoint. -I really like how they display their menu choices by their fresh plates where you cansee what the food will look like. -The restaurant had plenty of seating. Came here for Sunday brunch and the food was great. The portions were a bit small for the price. And the only thing we didn't... love were the breakfast potatoes because they were soggy and we prefer them crispy. But other than that, we enjoyed ourmeal. Made a reservation for 7 and was promptly seated. The dinner menu is fairly simple, with only four entrees and two pastas to... choose from. The server was kind to pour us a small sample of two glasses of wine so that we could pick which bottle wepreferred. The lemon shrimp pasta was very tasty with the pasta cooked just right. However the large shrimp were slightly overcooked. The halibut dish was just ok, the fish was over cooked and I’m not sure why they cut up the vegetables into tinypieces instead of them being whole. The quiche was really good! There was a higher cheese to egg ratio in the quiche, which made it more flavorful that an average... quiche. Avocado toast was good too. The spread/sauce was very special. I didn't really like the omelet because there was toomuch oil. Read more
New favorite breakfast spot! My mouth was watering at the large array of beautiful dishes. ???? Coffee was awesome too. -I... couldn’t find the water and asked an employee and she graciously showed me right around the corner. Even though it was superobvious she was very kind about it.
