This is a San Mateo gem, and the perfect restaurant for vegetarian or meat eaters. Lots of flavor! It's healthy, made to... order and you get a good quantity for your money. Wow just wow. My friend and I came to Hummus Kitchen and it was absolutely amazing. The salmon plate was fabulous the Salmon was... juicy and the salad was wet ! And to top it off our server Alp was wonderful!! We were greeted with a smile and he was sohelpful and explained everything so great. We ended our meal with a Turkish coffee and it was delicious. Friendly service but very average food at best. Greek fries were not good. Prices are expensive, particularly for the smaller... portions you get. Flavor was bland. The soda tasted extremely watered down. Definitely not going again. Read more
I recently relocated to the Bay Area and I have been looking for a replacement to one of my favorites back in my hometown,... Denver. I think I have finally found it here, and they might even be better. They even have their own hot sauce! Gotta get thecombo plate for your first time. Read more
We tried different varieties and loved the food. Three of our families went with little kids, 30mins before the closing time on... new year day but the staff was very helpful and courteous. They took care of everything very well and checked with us of ourneeds in advance before the kitchen closes. Would definitely visit again and recommend for others! Read more
Came for a take out and some Turkish coffee. Loved the coffee and the Pide was also not so bad. The Pide lacked some flavour and... could have done with some herbs and spices. Found the server very rude and inattentive. Could do better with the service. As apasser by it was an okay experience but not sure if I would have enjoyed a dine in. Read more
This is by far the best Mediterranean food I have tried in San Mateo. The quality as well as quantity is great. The service is... amazing and ambience is good too. One thing is missing is that their plates or combos do not include hummus. Mediterranean foodis incomplete without hummus. You have to buy it separately for around 6$. Food was not great. We got takeout - two wraps, a kids “plate” (which consisted of chicken, white rice, and a pool of... grease), Greek fries, felafels, and hummus. Hard to figure out how my wrap was so dry when there was also oil pouring from thebottom. I poured some creamy sauce they gave us on it and that made it swallowable. Not sure what to call the sauce because ithad no discernible flavor. Greek fries were garlicky, but completely limp/mush after a ~10 minute drive home. Felafels were niceand crunchy. Hummus was super bland, and we were surprised to discover there was no pita included with it… so I guess we weresupposed to use a spoon? Won’t be back! Read more
