The best. A San Mateo institution. When this opened in SM when I was a kid it was a HUGE deal. Mission burritos on the... Peninsula!!!Although the grilled chicken burrito isn't quite what it used to be, the vegetarian burrito is stillunbeatable. Beans, rice, tostadas, tacos, tortillas aren't greasy so you don't have feel like a lardball afterwards. And theyuse whole fresh tomatoes! And there are vegan options! As burrito joints disappear from downtown San Mateo this one needs to bepreserved. GO THERE! tell your friends! This is my favorite place to get a burrito in the world. If you order the Deluxe Burrito, any meat, with refried beans and mild... salsa it will be a 10/10 every time. I have been eating it for 15 + years. I have moved to Boise Idaho and just came home tovisit and bought 4 extra burritos to share with a few people and also have one for later. There are no burritos that comparehere in Idaho and I wish they would open a branch here. I love Taqueria La Cumbre San Mateo. Read more

Dude the burrito ???? here is no joke! I ordered one super special of the day w/ everything and a agua fresca Mango flavor sat... outside in front of water fountain and gorgeous weather for under 15 dollars. Yeah if you think your going to get that much for12 dollars anywhere else be my guest. La Cumbre is famous here for service, quality and location. Read more

This restaurant was my favorite. Right now I was eating my food and I found this a piece of metal in my food.
Before here, I've had refried beans a handful of times, usually from Taco Bell and a very vague memory of having it from a... can... Also from Taco Bell? (I will separately follow up on this strange memory I've just recalled...) The refried beans hereare amazing! I really like soft foods and smooth foods, so this hit the mark for me completely. I have come back here twiceliterally because I was craving their refried beans!! I promise I'm not crazy if you try it too. I've had their nachos, bitesof a burrito, and the chicken dinner plate. All pretty good. The nachos especially are HUGE and super delicious. Pair it with aMexican Coke and you've got yourself a pretty swell Friday night dinner. ???? Read more
I ordered a super shrimp burrito and it came out to be about $14. The burrito was good but I wasn't give any salsa or chips with... my order, not even a bag. Just the burrito and a few napkins. I really want to like this place, but I feel like there are betterdeals just a few doors down. Read more
