Great place for girl night out. 6 of us had a great time celebrating our friend's birthday. I love their pizza the most, fresh... made and full of ingredients! Couldn't resist but to finish all the breads! Read more

Nice place with good food. The truffle honey on the chef's cheese platter was really good. We had the North Italy wine flight... and it did not disappoint. The beet salad and burrata were a bit underwhelming and we didn't have enough appetite to try outtheir pizza. Overall, it was a decent experience. Read more

Music was good and food was okay. Amazing ambience ?? I gave low on service because I informed them about a special occasion I... had and asked for a small cake or something to celebrate. No attention was given to my request except giving me a semi cateredmenu. ???? Read more

Great Italian food for mid peninsula. They serve good Neapolitan style pizza made with zero zero flour. Salmon ravioli was... great, as was the gelato. There’s heated outdoor dining too. This place was incredibly packed on a Friday night soreservations are recommended. Read more

I must say- I found this place because they were on the Michelin guide. Don’t let the lack of stars fool you- a technicality... that pizza excludes this place from consideration for a star, is truly the only reason. I was greeted by cheerful hosts despitebeing a solo diner- I found an instant place by the bar. And thank god for that- the best part of the experience was the staff, charismatic bartenders and servers checking on you and refilling beverages as you go, truly immaculate service. The setting ismagnificent, ambient lighting, futuristic designs adorning the bar, and the flame of the pizza oven providing additional headyvibes. The cocktails were each remarkable, unique and delicious- the food absolutely blew me away. Prosciutto and bone marrow tostart (don’t miss either!) , 36 hour braised pork cheek with crispy broccolini and a heavenly, decadently-spiced saucedrizzled over caramelized figs. When asked by the server how things were, I could only tell him “it’s a religiousexperience!” Don’t miss this 10/10 dining experience! Watch a video review of this and other Bay Area restaurants onAdventure Sena in a week or two! (The picture of a Viking helmet is the right channel) Read more

Make a reservation!! This place gets really busy, especially on weekends. We had to sit at the bar even with a reservation!... Service was a little slow, but that's because they were so busy. They were still friendly and professional. And the food! Oh mygosh the pizza was absolutely delicious. And the pasta was wonderful. Our mixed drinks were strong and tasty. Definitely worth avisit! In A Nutshell: -Pausa Bar & Cookery is really nice spot for a meal in downtown San Mateo. -You can sit indoors or... outdoors. -The bone marrow is some of the best I've had (you get a really nice amount), I love spreading this on bread. -Thecharcuterie board is also a nice order if you want to taste some really good cheese paired w/ cured meats, fats & liver. -Thepizza, pasta & fish plates were also spectacular. Overall, this is just another great restaurant you will find in & arounddowntown San Mateo, a true foodie town. Read more

I had to take the time to write a review for Pausa, my first time here and it was a great experience! Thanks to all the staff... for the wonderful service making dinner a pleasant experience. For appetizers we ordered bone marrow and pork belly. The porkbelly was delicious! I LOVED my pisco punch cocktail so much I had 4 of them :) . For the main dish I ordered beef short ribs. For the dessert you have to try the strawberry shortcake with a double shot of espresso!! Read more
