Absolutely disgusting. The garlic knots smelled spoiled..literally rotten. They were solid hard, but not burnt- therefore they... were likely stale, and I imagine that the butter on them spoiled, creating this disgusting, lingering smell. It even left arotten odor on my hands. I am so disappointed as I love this area for its eateries and atmosphere, But this was insanelyunacceptable. I ordered a medium vegan pizza and did not mind that there were no official options for substitutions,( I acceptedit bc i thought it was possibly gourmet.) Unfortunately I was wrong. It is not gourmet and the flavor was completely bland.After experiencing the knots, I suspect they loaded the pizza with cheese to hide the possibly expired/old and flavorlessingredients. Despite my pizza being covered with vegetables, it had zero flavor.... Not even the red sauce had flavor. I don'tknow whats going on, and if they hadn't closed by the time I tasted my pizza and garlic knots at home, i'd have returned anddemanded a refund, Bc rotten food is more than concerning. Great pizza, clean and wonderful customer service! Their gluten free pizza is the best that I have had.
Seems like a great place to hang out with friends. Ample seating indoors (including counter seats if you?d prefer to be on your... phone) and on the patio. The pizza was tasty, too. Read more
The best tasting pizza I ever had!! The aroma of the sauce when I drove home was great. My father had already eaten dinner, and... I gave him a slice, and then he wanted a 2nd slice. It is very tasty, like no other pizza that I ever had before. It wasdifficult to find at first, because I did not see their signage, but now I know where it is located in San Mateo. I have been here about 5-7 times in the past 2 months with my best friend and it's the best. Very good toppings and I love the... way it is cooked. The crust is made a bit thicker than most pizza places but it is still really good. I personally love thethicker "Chicago" crust type pizza so it's perfect for me. I love it! Totally recommend!!! Firstly, I'd like to acknowledge the fact that we're still going through a pandemic and running a business must pose incredible... challenges. My intention with this review is to share constructive feedback with the intention of bringing issues to yourattention since I do not feel comfortable sharing them when I'm at Slices about to eat. I had food from this place three timesin total. The first was during the inauguration. Another during the weekend and today during the lunch time. The pizza has anice taste. The dough is fluffy and has a crunchy base. At least in my experience there are never too many options in terms ofpizzas. The main issue this particular Slices experiences is the poor service. I'm not here to bash anyone in particularhowever it feels like they are still operating the place like during their inauguration. My main concerns are regardingefficiency and hygiene. From an efficiency standpoint, it feels like you're either not asking the right questions at the righttime to the customer (for example having my pizzas handed in a tray when I wanted a to go box) or having the employee with apizza tray calling out pizza names (instead a customer name like every coffee shop does or a number like other businesses do) toget their warmed up pizzas. In situations like this, I see employees talking to each other trying to understand who was thecustomer. These problems have been solved by many other businesses and using a solution that works for you would make theexperience a lot better. With regards to hygiene, which is a hot topic right now, I honestly don't understand why the traysused to heat up the pizza slices are so narrow that an employee has to touch my pizza with their thumb. Was this overlooked as aproblem? If not, can't the employee use a glove? This seems pretty basic in a time where these issues are revisited and dealtwith to adapt. Yummy pizza. Fluffy thick Sicilian style crust. Fast to grab a slice Very clean, indoor dining I liked the first slice I got... here enough to come back and other a whole pizza. Slices needs to rethink their pizza Good service but the pizza by the slice was warmed up toast. I don't get it. Nothing stood... out in any positive way and I would have done better with a burrito. Also, they give you a small cup for soda with only 1refillon the lunch special. Cheese was good, crust is like dried out thick toast. So like French bread cooked too long.
