We love the Filling Station! We drive from Belton a couple of times a month to have lunch and were excited to have a Friday... night date night there. It takes on different atmosphere at night. It?s such a fun place to eat, and we?ve gotten nothing buthot, fresh, and delicious meals there.\n\nI have many years of restaurant mgmt and even ownership experience, so I look at thecorners and scrutinize the food safety. On our last visit I was impressed to see that burgers from the outdoor grill (the bestway to cook them) were carried to prep and plating in a totally enclosed plastic container. I?ve been to other restaurants thatgrilled outside and worked at a venue where outdoor grilling was standard. We like when places run an outdoor grill, because ittastes better.\n\nWe?ll continue to be frequent customers of this charming retro cafe? and recommend you try it. Another nice place in San Saba with no clue. Paper plates?? By the time you get to the bottom you?re eating paper with your... food. They have a menu but do ?Specials?. How can you sell food from a grill outside? Is that even sanitary? It explains thebland cold ?famous? burgers and cold stretchy fries we received along with the stomach bug my kid got from it all night. TheChicken spaghetti special was just as bad. Where are you cooking these casseroles and desserts? Surely not in that play kitchen?Seems like someone is playing ?Pinterest Chef? at home and bringing it in this place. Maybe just stick with ice cream and shakescold sandwiches and snacks. Place is really cute. Only reason for the one star. No need to apologize either Filling Station.Don?t offer to make it ?right? either. Damage has already been done, and got my kid sick. Hope you make it. Didn?t call healthdepartment with complaint at least. But until you cook your food inside like a normal restaurant, I don?t think we will bereturning. Visited San saba just to come here and eat. My family and I absolutely loved everything about this cute little place. From the... food,hospitality and atmosphere.
