We discovered this place based on a friend?s recommendation. She said, ?they have vegan Mac n cheese.? Well that?s all the... convincing it took. Three of 4 us got the vegan Mac and cheese. I came here searching for an opportunity to have a vegan brunch in Santa Barbara. Unfortunately, LA traffic held me up and I... didn?t get there until after the brunch hour, and they were eager to warn me that they close in an hour?even though I had anhour left to order and eat and they weren?t at all packed. Anyway, the menu looked wonderful, but the food was surprisinglybland despite a beautiful presentation. The pulled mushroom sandwich had a subtle barbecue flavor, but it tasted as if it hadn?tbeen marinated and the oyster mushrooms were not tender. The fudge brownie basically tasted like cacao paste with slightsweetener in it. Actually, my favorite dish was the side salad that had shredded beats on top. It was quite flavorful and theblend of the tart shredded beets complement of the balsamic vinegar dressing very well. Read more
