The place has a nice appearance and atmosphere but the service and pricing isn't all that good. A piece of miso cod that I... ordered was around 20 dollars and the two pieces weren't bigger than my hand. We spent near 90 dollars and we were barely hungryin the first place. The food took some time to arrive even though the place was fairly empty and the staff didn't check up on usto ask if we needed anything while we saw two of them sit in a corner and chat. The server that had us was nice but seemed a bitnew and had to go to the kitchen to ask about a lot of things. Overall the food was decent but the selection is way short ofother sushi restaurants and the staff looks like they can be trained a bit more, and the price often doesn't match up toportion. Read more

My favorite place for vegetarian and vegan rolls. Green machine is delicious and made with perfection. The restaurant has a... perfect ambience. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating. We, party of 8 did not enjoy the experience at Bamboo Sushi. The rolls (Chasing the Dragon, Friday the 13th, River and Streams)... are small compared to other sushi places. The rolls are small and nothing short of disappointment. No explosion of flavorshere. We also order a $17 Wagyu burger. The in-and-out burger would have hit the spot better. Sadly to say. The onion ringswere soggy, not crispy and there is still flour on the inside. We told the waitress but she didn’t seem to care. Want bettersushi, you can try Cha Cha Sushi in San Jose or Sen Dai Sushi in Milpitas. Way bigger portions, way better taste, way betterservice and the price is more reasonable. Spent $240 but felt like we didn’t get much food. Food here was expensive, notsatisfy and the experience will not be bringing us back. Definitely not the same as the experience I had in Portland. Really loved the burger they have here! Its unusual for a sushi restaurant to have, but i think they nailed it perfectly! The... tempura onion rings really went well with the back bean BBQ burger! Which was surprisingly not that messy to eat. Not alot ofsause/oil dripping but still tasted really teriyaki and BBQ once eaten! They also can cut it in half go make it easier to eat!Servers were awesome too! He comes around often with water often and provided updates to the food whenever he passed by. Also hemade great recommendations for the salmon nigri and drinks as well! The setting for outdoor dining is perfect as its mostlyshaded and inactive patio heaters everywhere! Just great sushi and burgers here and equally great service! Its worth knowingthat the reservation system they have is inaccurate and sometimes if you reserved a table ahead of time, it doesnt show up onthe screen. First time @ this location. I find the negative reviews surprising as our dinner there was very nice. I see most of the reviews... about small portions, however the food they serve is, I believe, proper portions and not to stuff yourself sick like everywhereelse, so of course it seems small to people. I agree it is a bit pricey, however im partial as this is one of the few japaneserestaurants that are mostly gluten free and celiac safe. Our group ordered the wagu burger, veggie tempura, tamago nigiri,kanpachi nigiri, and the big island roll. Everything was served timely and the staff were all very nice. No complaints at all.
