Excellent service, great menu items. Wifey ordered a Midori sour, I must say it was made to perfection, I had a specialty drink... the Searcher (duke bourbon, lemon, Blackberry purée, Basil, and thyme bitters) so good especially with the hint of Basilflavor. (Highly recommend) also had a Side car which unfortunately was a bit to strong. I also sampled the only Stout they hadwhich was very high in alcohol Contant but lacked flavor and body of a good chocolate or coffee Stout. For appetizers we hadcalamari, Seafood plate which had lobster tail, Aji tuna, shrimp, and oysters. The calamari were excellent especially the littlelegs (I’m a legs man) The oysters were mild and very fresh, the lobster tails (served cold) were absolutely incredible, oh mygosh… so good! We also had steak bites, Brussels sprouts with chunks of ham, garlic fries (so good) and Mac and cheese(I’ve had better) For my main meal I had a beautiful garden salad with oil and red wine vinegar, mashed potatoes with a peppersteak filet mignon (cooked Med rare). The steak was very good although it was ever so slightly chewy “not sure but if I was toguess… it was not USDA prime, most likely Choice.” That being said it was still a good steak. Great vibe, delicious food and amazing service. While we did not have steaks, the pasta and risotto were amazing with fresh... seafood and flavorful seasoning. Me and 4 girlfriends went to San Jose/San Francisco to celebrate my birthday! I wanted a nice steak dinner to celebrate. I... started searching Google maps and found Birk’s. I loved that they took reservations and had their last reservation at 830pmso we had enough time to get back to San Jose to change and be ready for a nice relaxing dinner! Birk’s happened to be in ancooperates office area so as I was driving around to find it, which I missed the original entrance, finally found it on the Eastside of the buildings. Parking was definitely easy to find at 830pm. But I could see if the offices were open it may be a bit ofa challenge to find a close spot. We walked in and was greeted immediately. We were sat at a nice table that could see thekitchen. We ordered drinks and appetizer - calamari and then a wedge salad for myself. The rest of the meals were the filetmignon with blue cheese and port wine, sea bass with black rice and prime rib with Lobster Mac and Cheese. Everything wascooked to perfection! Great American-style restaurant offering standard comfort food. Server was friendly and experienced - he knew their wine list... well, and paced the meal well. Cocktails were well made and delicious. My poached shrimp arrived searing hot. Steamed vegetableswere perfectly cooked - still crunchy. My friend's ribeye was a perfect medium-rare. Water glasses were refilled withoutasking. The server brought out a complimentary birthday dessert for my friend, which was a nice surprise. Heads up that thebuilding in under construction and it took us a while to find the restaurant. I’ve never had a bad meal at Birk’s. Today was a simple lunch: Chicken BLT with fries. And it was very good. Just a little... pricey but after all, it is a prime steak restaurant. Read more
