Came here last weekend with my wife and mother in law for our trip to Santa Cruz. Our server was outstanding extremely helpful... and very professional but the food on the other hand was mediocre given the price point. Our clam chowder was extremely saltyand supper gritty. My wife got the rabbit stew and the rabbit was over cooked. For salmon coming from Monterey it was extremelyfishy and not that appetizing. The filet was decent but we didn't even finish all of our food for small portions. On the brightside it has a good location, friendly staff, and the drinks were really good. I got drawn to this place cause I?m a big fan of O?Neill and like always it didn?t disappoint. The food is exceptional ! You... can sense chefs unique touch in each plating and taste. Came here for their Mothers day menu and had a very nice experience. I highly suggest the scallops, best dish of the night! The... salmon was a bit underwhelming. We also could have done without all the cookies and sweets before our meal. The staff was veryhelpful and knowledgeable and even gave us roses when we left. The view is really iconic and made our visit extra memorable.Parking is a bit difficult to find and we ended up driving around looking for a spot. Overall it was a pleasant experience and Iwould be happy to come back. Read more
The ambiance is awesome. Smells like crab upon entry... In the best way possible. Kind folks working there. The food was... actually stupendous, really delicious and fresh tasting. Prices are high, but food is delicious. No American sized portions lol, but left happy and content. I did the mussels for the... appetizer, which came with 4. For my meal, I did prawns and pumpkin ravioli. Came with 4 prawns and about 6 ravioli pieces. Itwas delicious. It is $2.50 to add another prawn. Life is too stressful and hectic for everyone to continue on without a break. I think we all deserve one. The beach provided me... with an escape after a month of hectic work and stress. Not knowing that I was waiting for a perfect breakfast at theO'Neill's. There is an incredibly calm and peaceful atmosphere in this restaurant. This restaurant's enthusiasm andprofessionalism were evident immediately when I walked in. I was treated with warmth and professionalism that left me extremelyrefreshed. The restaurant's highlight is their balcony, which offers a beautiful view of the beach along with the sun's warmrays. Throughout my stay I found the breakfast to be satisfactory with no surprises. The entire experience was absolutelydelightful. Among the things this restaurant is known for is its collection of high-quality utensils and crockery. There isalways perfect cooking and equitably served food. All the readers of this review should take themselves as well as theirfriends and family members to this restaurant sans hesitation. The views and ambiance are perfect, it's a great place to be. The food is also a pleasure - great clam chowder, the pacific... catch was tasty, and when they say artisan pasta they mean it! It was amazing, so fresh. Plus, an in house pastry chef whodefinitely knows their stuff! They also had interesting silverware and crockery, which was a nice touch, live music, good winelist, and valet parking at the Dream Inn so you don't have to fight the boardwalk/pier traffic.
