Food: 4 Stars - flavorful, the stake kabob plate was amazing. Service: our server was very friendly and attentive. But the... host: Subtle racism: 5 stars. Made reservation and arrived early. We were seated by the host(a young man) to the furthestcorner near the back kitchen and the busy pathway to the restroom when the entire dining room was almost empty. I asked for aseat change as my seat was almost obstructing the traffic of that pathway. Just echoing Annie's review on NYC's One if by landtwo if by sea, it seems that some restaurants sticking their asian customers in the corner is not as uncommon. You do it, wecall you out. A beautiful, tucked away restaurant in downtown Santa Cruz. The garden in back is a gem, very quiet and tranquil. The food was... generally pretty good, and while I think you could probably get more flavorful and better quality Medeterranean food in San Jose(for less money), this is some of the best available in Santa Cruz.
