My girlfriends and I found this hidden gem on our way through Santa Fe and enjoyed every bite! At first the large menu was a bit... overwhelming, but we all found so many delicious things to try and wished we could eat more. We will definitely be back! Read more
let me start by saying that the food was very good. It was my first time eating here. My partner and I waited about 20 minutes... to be seated, which wasn?t a huge deal. Except for the fact that our total time at the restaurant was nearly 2 hours. After wewere seated no one came to bring water or take our order. So the hostess that sat us eventually took our order. That was thelast we saw of anyone for quite some time. The party ahead of us got their food, and the two groups that were behind us, SantaFe yuppies, that had chosen to sit at the sushi bar, both got served before us. I had to flag down a server and ask if she couldcheck on our food. Which had been sitting up on the top of the sushi bar for about 15 or 20 minutes. Everyone was really polite,but a little communication goes a long way. I will try to eat there again, possibly on a night or time when it is not so busy asa Sunday evening. After serving people all day myself it was just a little disappointing to be ignored and forgotten about likethat and not offered a free dessert which would have cost them $4 to help me feel better about my bad experience. The sushi was really good, and they have good Eel sauce. Anything fried in theor tempura is A+. Only one star removed because of... their Udon. Bland broth and no fishcake or mushroom. The staff was great tho. They listened to our concerns and offeredsolutions. Read more
Went around lunch time with my grandmother. We were the only people dining in. When we enter Tokyo cafe the floor was SOO... STICKY!! Every little step our shoes made a sticky sound ????. The booth we were sat at was occupied by flies. The flies wouldnot leave us alone. We mentioned that to our waitress multiple times but she did not suggest to move us or offer to help. *Irecommend bringing your own fly swatter while you eat* we didn't wait long for our meal, we got started off with miso soup andvegetables tempura and our food came shortly after. It was really hard to enjoy our meal because of the non-stop constant bugsof the flies trying to land on our food and it was just tiring swatting them. I don't know what the hype is about the dishesI've saw on Google about this restaurant... We had a total different experience.. Our lunch was bland. Usually don't see anysalt or peppers at any japanese restaurant because flavors is on point but I felt like a lot of the components in our main dishdidn't have taste. Maybe we didn't came on their good days? I would like to retry this restaurant at a different time when it'smost busy. Hopefully by then, my posted review will change but for now it is what it is. This place is actually beyond my expectation. All dishes we ordered are tasty, and the crazy Cajun sushi is awesome!
Small locations with friendly staff. Sushi was superb, plating was creative and elegant. I also had a hibachi filet mignon that... surpassed my expectations of what I was going to receive for the price definitely recommend. Read more
