My must stop whenever I visit santa Monica! I visited a few ???? other places in the area, but by far this place is the... best!! I love their fried fish, shrimps, and rotisserie chicken ???? - but honestly you can’t go wrong with anything. ????The customer service is great despite that they are always super busy. Benny’s is constantly in my rotation for tacos and burritos. As you can see, the portions are huge, but what’s holding it... back is the pricing. There are tons of Mexican restaurants in the area that are far cheaper and offer a similarexperience. Today I got the Macho Wet Burrito with Chipotle chicken and verde sauce. It came with rice, beans, chips and sidesof guac, roja and verde sauce. The burrito was was stuffed and tasted great. The rice was also amazing, I think they cook itwith some type of shrimp broth. The entire meal was massive and lasted me two meals. You should definitely try Bennys if youare driving down Wilshire or live in the area. Give me Veggie veggie any day of the week. This burrito is bursting with flavors off the grill. It is sooo good! So much flavor.... I was not expecting to like it that much. The tortilla was slightly crispy on some parts which gave it some fun texture combinedwith the flavor. I added rice and requested the black beans. Every meal I’ve ever had at Benny’s has been delicious. The servers, cooks and restaurant staff are always so nice (even... when some customers aren’t), and they make some of the best Mexican food in Santa Monica. The drinks/Frescas were dang good. I got the 1/2 rotisseries w flour tortilla. Def got my grub on. Would def go back. Music was... a little loud for my taste and no bathrooms but it’s Santa Monica so I understand why. Great location. It was my first timeand the employees were very kind and friendly. I always drive by Benny's tacos strolling down in Santa Monica, and something about it always stands out. It's yellow signage is... a given, but it just looks like an authentic, cheap Mexican joint that speaks to me. Rolled up on a Friday night and it waspretty mellow around the store front. Mostly outside seating and not many patrons, so ordering and receiving the food was quickand easy. I was debating between a burrito and the taco plate. Asked the cashier his recommendation and he made the wisesuggestion that if I was really hungry, I should go with the burrito, but for a quick bite to go with the tacos. Safe to say hewas right. On the contrary, the taco plate is still a larger portion than I anticipated. I had two carnitas tacos and boy dothey pack them with a ton of meat here. I was only a little hungry, and this meal made me more than full. On top of the tacos,the beans, rice, and side of chips make up for a pretty extensive plate - all for just over $10. Competing with a variety ofother Mexican restaurants in the Santa Monica area, I would suggest Benny's more than most in part to their reasonable prices,high quality food, and friendly service.
