The best pasta in Los Angeles! Maybe even the best pasta in the US? Colapasta masters the art of making fresh, traditional pasta... with the correct ingredients. The owner and his staff make you feel like family, as if they are welcoming you in their home. Wewent there for DineLA, and had the opportunity to sample the agnolotti, the fusilli, poppy pasta, and lasagna. All wonderful! Iwant to highlight the artichoke soup in particular which really tasted like a concentrated flavour of artichoke rather than theusual bland soups I find in the US. Was slightly disappointed by the fact that the soup may have been microwaved as it was coldat the top and then burned my tongue, but I still give it 5 stars for the extraordinary pasta and the friendly service! Bib gourmand and for good reason. The ingredients are fresh and the pastas are perfectly cooked, al dente. Gramigna Bolognese /... Emilia Gramigna Pasta with Traditional Beef Ragù had a classic tomato beef taste with a large portion size. Casunziei /Dolomiti Half-Moon-Shaped Red Beet Ravioli in Brown Butter with Poppy Seeds were a sweet and salty combo that'll satisfy eventhose that dislike beets. Personally, savory pasta is better than sweet Read more

Wow! We just had the best pasta I?ve ever had in Los Angeles. There were little pillows of agnolotti love, and half moon... shaped ravioli stuffed with beets and covered in brown butter. My kids each had a bowl of magical casarecce pasta. I can?teven begin to describe the perfection. The menu is incredibly simple and the focus is solely on the pasta. This is a gem! Read more

Tucked away on a quiet-tree-lined Santa Monica street, we were greeted by the tall, smiling and charming Francisco. Little did... we know, he would be our server. Arriving just thirty minutes prior to closing, we surely thought we would be a burden. Thesituation played out further from the truth. We were treated as if were were family just arriving for a late dinner at Grandpalshouse in this family owned trattoria. From the simple yet delicious dishes, to the excellent service provided by Francisco, tothe chef and owner himself wishing us a good night as we left - this is a place you want to visit on more than one occasion. An excellent dinner of fresh gnocchi and fresh lasagna. The waitress (Ivette) was amazing, my son (5) must have a crush on her.... The wait staff and the owner all seem to like what they do. Love this place and will be back again if we're in the area. Read more
