Sushi spot in Santa Monica that?s good for grabbing a casual weeknight dinner. Came here on a Wednesday around 6pm and got... seated immediately (note that your entire party needs to be present). We split an order of tempura udon and sushi ensemble (withspicy tuna rolls for $1 more). I really liked the udon, and the tempura was freshly fried and not oily. The sushi ensemble camewith different cuts of fish so it?s a good option if you want variety. They do have lunch specials. There?s a tiny parking lotas well as metered street parking. I?ve never been to a sushi place that won?t give a side order of Siracha sauce to use on our $100 to go order. I asked 2x and... they said no, we don?t give it for to go orders. Needless to say our $100 was wasted and 99% went in the trash. I just asked fora tiny bit but they refused. Never again! Sushi was very bland and not appetizing. Maybe it was because they were about to closeand we got old food. We eat Sushi in Vegas all the time and it never tastes like this. Read more
This is definitely one of the best sushi restaurants i?ve had, on the outside it doesn?t look too inviting but step in and it is... a very comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. Nice place, commanding hostess ordered my friend to stand outside to wait. Decent food, bento box is good value. Spicy chicken... had too much teriyaki sweet sauce not so good. Bulgogi is okay but a little too much sauce. Read more
They have very good quality fish, and other foods. The service started off good, until the forgot to bring us a few of our... orders, which we ended up cancelling. We ordered the combination sashimi plate which came with a fresh green salad and misosoup, vege gyoza, spicy tuna cut roll, tornado roll, spicy tuna rice cakes and steamed black mussels, and seaweed salad. Theyfood was tasty, just a heads up the tornado roll is tasty but it is fried and made with well designed potatoes that has beenshaved (don?t quote me on terminology) to look like spaghetti pasta, so it is very filling. Absolutely delicious sushi and amazing service! This place was surprisingly busy and had good vibes on a Thursday night around... 6-8. While there we randomly experienced a power outage and the staff was so nice and helped us pay our bill anyways. Irecommend the hungry roll, caterpillar roll, and the Alaskan roll. Read more
