I ordered ahead of time, and my food wasn't ready until 30 minutes after the stated time. Some people who arrived after me and... ordered after me got their food before me. The food was pretty good though (the coating on the chicken was maybe the thickestand crispiest coating I've ever encountered on a piece of fried chicken, which was what I wanted). I figured the long wait wasprobably a fluke so I came back a week later. Incompetent service and really bad food. I had a pick up order that said it was ready online but the staff said it was not... ready. Ended up waiting over 30 minutes at the restaurant even though it said it was ready. I was then initially given the wrongorder for a different restaurant within Umami burger. I had to go back inside and wait again. I was then given another orderthat was labeled with the correct receipt for my Sam's Crispy chicken order but what do you know when I checked inside the bagit was SUSHI from Kumi, another restaurant that operates out of the same space. I had to return that order while the stafflooked for my order. The staff just looked confused and did not know what had happened. They were so confused they did not eventake time to apologize or say sorry once. The chicken was dry, the fries looked and tasted like they were made at the beginningof the day, and they just used a sandwich carton and filled it up with mac and cheese that it was overflowing. The boxes werenot sealed and there was also sauce and cheese that had spilled on the inside of the bag. I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with waffle fries, my hubby had the cowboy burger with thin fries and salted peanut... butter shake. The food was fresh, flavor was great and the best part was the service! Great job guy! The truffle ketchup wassooooo good too... yum. Read more
Giving this 5 stars JUST for how crispy the food was. Totally lives up the name. I don?t know what they put in that seasoning... for the fries, but it was so bomb. Also the truffle ketchup was *chef?s kiss* perfect. I got the original chicken sandwich. *Notpictured* I also got fried pickles and they were crispy, crunchy, and delicious. 10/10 recommend and would go again. This isstrictly for the Santa Monica location- I went to the Costa Mesa location afterwards and it was much lower quality. Read more
Chicken Sandwich time! ???? Took awhile, like 40 minutes but as the guy working there told me,"real food takes time". Cool... place, would have stayed but he gave me mine to go, was that a hint? ???? Ordered the Classic and Nashville Hot, they wereindeed "crispy" on the outside but moist and juicy on the inside. Both were great but the Nashville won, smokey/spicy/sweet. $8for an artisan chicken sandwich seems fair to me. The waffle fries were good too but next time I'll skip those and get anotherchicken sandwich. ???????? Read more
