If you are in a mood to eat at a restaurant with the Californian vibe, this is the place. Has a nice chill atmosphere with... friendly staff. Food is tasty, but a bit pricey for what it is. However you won’t be upset with what you have in front ofyou. It does have a major fruit fly issue inside the restaurant for some reason, but the staff will try to make accommodationsfor your comfort. It could have been the weather that day. Hard to say. This is our second time to The Independence and yet again the service and food were amazing we ate the Smash Burger and the... Mushroom Burger which both were so delicious and juicy. The surprise winner was the broccoli appetizer this was so amazing andsavory. We will definitely be back and are always happy to come here. Read more
Is located in best area next to public parking across the beach next to 3rd street and hotels. They have the bestbstaff very... friendly. The food is amazing wow i will definitely be coming back for more. We came for brunch and of course i had alcohol ???? express martini to he exact. Great service, great food. Read more
The Independence is a wonderful dining experience in Santa Monica. Have been quite a few times. I’ve had the oysters, fish and... chips, salmon, and wings. Each dish was delicious and the presentation was on point. Also the drink menu has a decent assortmentof wines and liquors. Although I am personally partial to the Uncle Nearest. We were looking for brunch in Santa Monica and stumbled upon the Independence based off their raving reviews... so, we had to... try it. We ordered the egg benedict, huevos rancheros and a side of the potatoes, and a mimosa. We were so impressed with thepresentation and QUALITY of the food. Our waiter recommended the food for us and we got to meet the manager, who was thesweetest man ever! Would totally recommend the Independence to anyone looking for a spot for brunch, you wont be disappointed!Customer service is wonderful, food is great and its next to the pier! Read more

Keeping it simple: Food, drinks, service……….all five stars! Portions are large and they do offer a pretty good... bottomless mimosa (I think it’s $27 and limit is 1 ½ hours). We did not take advantage of it, but we ordered one glass andit was filled to the brim. And they go light on the juice, making it full of the good stuff. Friendly greeting at front door, immediately seated and water offered straight away by owner. Server was extremely friendly,... efficient and used perfect attentiveness level. Nice beer and wine selection, with very tasty BLT, omelette & frites. Read more
