“Happy hour” is Without a Doubt the Best (3) hours of the day, at The Blue Mabel. Sitting here at the bar I have come to... realize this is my favorite place. When I walk in Lacie says Hello how are you!, Zach makes me a killer drink, The ambiance andvibe is on point. The food is Literally. as good as it gets. Ruin my entire trip!! Do not come if you travel here. We came at 8 and being told can only order take out. They asked us rudely... to stay outside and order everything on our own phone. When the bill was paid, we were writing tips, only being told “ don’tworry, a mandatory 18% tips have already been added”. Excuse me, 18% tips of what service? We ordered take out food by ownself without being served. When we got home only to find out a whole plate of pasta only has one bite. Outrageous. Btw, theycharged $1 for lettuce in burger. Absurd! This is one of the best places I have ever eaten. High end seafood places don’t hold a candle to this food wise! The flavor... combinations are incredible and the seafood dishes we had are healthy! the food and service here is one of the best on 30A - check my previous reviews I am pretty picky. Lol Sara took care of us for... lunch and was so helpful and friendly. Came back the next night for dinner and had Jules and she was so kind and helpful. Thewings are very good I think overall most dishes could use a touch of finishing salt. However the whit bbq sauce was verydelicious and it’s a change up from your classic wings which honestly is the best part of this restaurant. Their menu isdifferent than all the others. The red bean hummus was interesting it should be noted it’s a cold dish and the shrimp is coldwhich wasn’t bad but just unexpected and I thought it was decent. The elote dish was delicious and was a great substitute toa classic queso dish. The next day for dinner - we had the chefs board. Personally I think every charc board should have oneblue cheese and one spreadable cheese which it didn’t had but everything else on it was awesome. The iron skillet cornbreadwas the lowest point - would have enjoyed more flavor in the butter but it’s cornbread so it’s not a big deal. Gonna endthis review with - seriously - the best cooked chicken I have ever eaten at a restaurant. It was so juicy, beautifully smoked,and the waffle with the Foie butter was a wonderful accompaniment to the chicken. I am afraid to try it again because I’mafraid it won’t be the same that’s how good it was. For drinks we had the Jamaican Jerk Marg and that drink is amazing anda perfect pairing for the food. Overall this place reminded me of the Citizen which I also enjoyed in Alys beach but withbetter wait staff. All in all - making this our regular place when we’re back is what we will do.
