I visited here on my way to a camping trip on Figueroa Mountain, and it was so good I returned with my fiancée so she could try... it too. This is a higher end Mexican place with fancy cloth napkins, so don't expect a dollar menu. Service was excellent onboth trips. As soon as you sit down they deliver chips with salsa and a southwest bean dip. The salsa was pretty mild, but theyhave a spicy version that is just plain awesome with smoky serrano chili. I could eat that on everything. On my first trip Ihad a steak tostada. There was plenty of tasty steak, and it was topped with grilled green onions. Worth the price. On trip twoI tried the mole poblano tacos and they were pretty good. I think I'll stick with their steak options in the future, though. Myfiancée had a steak enchilada and loved it. She wasn't as impressed with the chicken taco, though. It was good, just not herfavorite. They have an impressive drink menu, and she raved about her blood orange margarita. Staff was attentive to anything we wanted before we asked. Hands down the Best Authentic Meal I have ever had 10 min we were... eating our meal and the portion size was ,?Phat as a Country Boys lunchbox?, and they are more reasonably priced than any of thefast food chains. I know now why it was jam packed at lunch. It is the Best food around. The greeter could have been just atouch more irritated by our work clothes and we understand. I will be revisiting this Locals Only Eatery regardless of anyoutward unspoken apparent hatred of outsiders or maybe that?s just the vibe I a projecting onto others. So disappointing, I took my wife for lunch here today. Thought we would give this place another chance after a bad experience a... few years ago. The food is so bad, I ordered enchiladas and the sauce tasted like catchup! I asked for some hot sauce (had tofind my sever that went missing) finally flagged down another server and when I asked for spicer sauce he have me a take outfoil pack of Cholula. We asked for light cheese and it was smothered in what seemed to be old cheese. Terrible service grossfood, will never return?. Read more

This is the best elevated Mexican food I've had in a long time. The ambiance, food, drinks and service are well worth the extra... few dollars they charge compared to the average restaurant. For my husband and me, (PRO TIP) they were able to do a half orderof guacamole. The complimentary bean & corn salsa was outstanding. We ordered 4 cocktails altogether and all were excellent. Themole tacos had a nice flavor - the mole was better than some I've had in Mexico! If you're passing anywhere near the area youshould definitely make a point to dine here. Read more
