Beautiful view, excellent food
We LOVE eating at Ellie's! The food is soooo delicious and it's farm to table so it's very fresh! The atmosphere is so... inviting! The slow cooked Tomahawk Beef Short ribs and Caramelized Apple Salad are absolutely amazing! Worst restaurant experience ever. My wife and I ordered appetizers which were very good and ordered salad asking for Bleu... cheese to be served on the side. We also ordered pork chop to share. We told the waitress we wanted to split salad and porkchop. After appetizer, the salad and pork chop came at the same time and salad had Bleu cheese on it rather than on the side. We complained that salad should have come out first and Bleu cheese on side. Also, we did not have correct utensils to eat thepork chop. They took back the salad to remake it and brought us correct utensils. We started to eat the pork chop and realizedit was overcooked. (also very bland). When they brought out the salad without Bleu cheese, neither my wife nor I wereinterested in eating anymore. So we asked to take everything away and bring us the dessert menu. At this point the managershowef up and basically told us to leave. We were flabbergasted. I asked to speak to the manager before we left and she mademe feel like we had done something wrong. She complained that she had lost a lot of money on our meal and did not want to losemore by serving us dessert. At no time did we ask fot any compensation for our meal or the two glasses of wine we were bothserved. I would have paid given the chance. As I write this, I am still angry and quite frankly just want to return home fromwhat had been a wonderful vacation. Obviously the food at this restaurant is generally good based on the ratings and maybethere was just a bad night with salad and overcooked pork chop (as I said getpacho and peppers were very good) but to turn otherpoorly cooked foods and service against us was really wrong. Pleasantly surprised!! Tuesday was Asian night and the flavors were AMAZING!! The service matches the food and the atmosphere is... perfect. I cannot wait to go back and try the regular menu. Thank you Joy and Jay for having such an awesome restaurant in ourlovely valley. Read more
Ellie?s has always made us feel like family, from our first visit. The food is phenomenal, the best I?ve ever had! The chefs,... Jay and Joy, are an absolute delight and so incredibly talented. The waitstaff, especially Halli, always made our experienceshere more than fantastic. I couldn?t recommend this place more, my husband and I are so sad to be leaving Californiaspecifically to be far from this place. If you?ve never been, definitely go. Read more
I don?t write reviews but I felt like I needed to after eating here last night. I had the best short rib I?ve ever eaten. Ever!... I actually closed my eyes and just savored the taste because it was that good. Just a little piece of heaven. The chopped saladwas delicious. The spicy duck app was amazing. The bread pudding was mouth watering to end the night. And on top of it all thecustomer service was top notch with even visits from the owners/chefs. I don?t have a single thing bad to say. I couldn?trecommend this place enough. If they were down in LA where I live I?d be there every week. Read more
