After spending time at other restaurants in the Cashiers and Highlands area the food and service was not on the mark compared to... others. The view from the bar and outdoor seating is breathtaking! Canyon Kitchen is amazing. We could not make reservations however, there was a cancellation and they got us seated. Elise and... Julian at the bar are fantastic. Vary friendly, knowledgeable, and drinks where amazing. Robie is amazing with his knowledge ofwine and parings. Finally and certainly not least our waitress Cara. Cara was vary professional, fun, and knowledgeable. We hada blast with her as our waitress and would highly recommended her to anyone. Thank you for the amazing experience. We willreturn. Read more
Horrible experience! My wife called ahead to see if we could come for drinks and she was told it was fine to come for drinks... even without dinner reservations. We have come many times before and this was fine. We had told our two guest couples who werevisiting from Atlanta about the lovely venue. We all dressed up nicely and showed up at 5:59. The manager told us we could nothave drinks because we did not have dinner reservations. We should have come between 5 and 6 for drinks but we were sent away.There was nobody in the restaurant! The lady that answered my wife’s initial phone call denied the conversation. We are longtime Cashier’s residents and will not recommend Canyon Kitchen. He could have said, “next time please come between 5 and 6but for now please come have a drink. We have instituted a new rule but we value you as Canyon Kitchen patrons andsupporters”. That manager needs to be fired. We were all dressed up in sport jackets and nice dresses. Not like we weredressed inappropriately. I highly recommend you boycott this attitude and rude service. Canyon Kitchen used to be the premierplace to visit and support. Not now. Double thumbs down. Read more
Unfortunately I didn’t realize this was not a public restaurant but rather a country club restaurant where members are... supporting the club. I have eaten at many like this and while some are extraordinary many leave much to be desired. Weather waspoor which no one could have done anything about. We arrived precisely at our reservation time and rather than be seated at ourtable we were told to go to the bar for a drink ( realize that we were the second group there for dinner at our 5:45 reservationwhich was the only one we could get. There wasn’t a single table seated at this time). We did, ordered a drink, and stood for15 minutes (no place to sit… not because there were other people present… there were literally no seats. One lady beside measked the bartender So are we just supposed to stand and drink and he said yes). So eventually we were seated at our table. Ourwaitress was nice. It was very windy and rainy. They had their plastic down to keep the weather outside but they didn’t fastenit in place. So every wind gust would blow the plastic in my wife’s lap. Multiple times staff would walk by looking at theblowing plastic but no one offered to fasten it down. Finally I asked someone to do it which they did on my wife’s side butnot on mine. So I did it for my side. The food was maybe a bit above average. Certainly nothing that I would return for. Fordesert I ordered the “warm pound cake” with peaches and…. Blah blah blah…. And my wife laughed when she saw a cook(not a chef) literally bringing down Sara Lee pound cake from the stairs. My wife ordered the lava cake and it was just as goodas the lava cake from dominos pizza, so it was pretty good. Never did the manager stop by and ask how our dinner was. Pleaseplease please go somewhere else for dinner. Read more
This place was amazing! Incredible setting, impeccable service and delicious food! They check all the boxes and then some! Go... early and get a drink from the outside bar, sit in Adirondack chairs and take in the view before dinner. Read more
A truly special place with incredible views and atmosphere. Food was fantastic and service was excellent. Only thing that I wish... was different was to arrive earlier to drink at the outside bar and enjoy the view for longer. They added a 20% service chargesplit amongst all the staff before the tip you add, which was a bit odd. Read more
The staff went out of their way to make our anniversary special. Service was quick, professional and efficient. Ambiance was... rustic, yet elegant. The food was simple, but very well executed. I recommend the meat and cheese platter, the short ribs andthe yogurt and beet panna cotta for dessert. Read more
This is my second time coming to Canyon Kitchen and all I have to say is that they do not disappoint. I had one of the best NC... Bass I have ever had and it was paired with butternut squash risotto. I would highly recommend this wonderful place for anyoneto visit and experience. Between delicious food and beautiful views, it has it all. Read more
