Baker & Wife is yet another amazing restaurant in Sarasota tucked in a strip mall. You would never guess that location, thought,... as the entrance is lined with beautiful potted palms and the interior is decorated with interesting housewares as well as oldwhite window frames on the main wall and ceiling, with interesting industrial shaded overhead lights. The menu has wide varietyof foods prepared in interesting ways with delicious side dishes. I had their black prawns, which were amazing. It's a bitpricey, but well worth it. We will be back! We really love coming here! I love the atmosphere, the service is good, the menu is good, it's just a fun spot! It's a great... place for the family or a date. The wine menu is great. The ambiance is so fun it's very pretty. They have outdoor dining.Although they don't have a huge menu they certainly accommodate requests! The pasta is made in house and is super delicious! Very disappointed in our meals. Ordered short ribs in pasta and the meatball. Both portions were quite small for the price. The... short ribs were quite tasty, however pasta is inexpensive and more would have made it a better dish. The meatball wasawful......dry, flavorless, with a tasteless sauce. There was nothing redeeming about the dish. Dessert was a run of the millflour less chocolate cake that was not worth the $12 price tag. When you are serving meals with a sauce, it is common to havebread or rolls on the table. Such is not the case here. The meatball was sad, charging $24 for a dish that has about $3 in foodcost at best is absurd. The service was fine, our waiter was thorough and attentive. The decor was meh, not a fan of thefarmhouse look. Not happy with having to eat a half a large bag of Ruffles when I got home to fill me up Read more

Absolutely charming place, with a great ambiance, service, and food. Cocktails look amazing but could be a little bit less... sweet. The food was excellent. All of the dishes we tried would have a 4-5 star ratings. Read more

What a delightful experience! I was impressed that the hostess called me to confirm the reservation for 4 at the bar and then... called me back a few minutes later, due to a cancellation, and offered us a table for 4. (Sometimes old school just works!) Ourservice was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The drinks were as delicious as they looked in the pics. Their menu is simplebut all the dishes we choose presented well and were simply really yummy. The Flourless Chocolate Square Dessert was sooo goodI forgot to take a pic as we all dived in to polish it off! Definitely worth giving this place a whirl with family or friends. Read more

Beef carpaccio was yum and the beet salad. Their old fashions aren’t too shabby. Personally appreciate when humans put... feminine products in the restrooms - sadly the only photo I took. Our waitress was very sweet too. Read more

On a tip from a friend we picked Baker & Wife as a landing zone for date night this week and this place is on point. Atmosphere... is fantastic, food was perfection, drinks were strong, and service was attentive. The calamari had a vinegar dressing thatcompletely negated the need for any sauces. The burger was unbelievable and the fries were crispy. We also has the scallops. Ouronly disappointment was we didn’t save room for dessert. Read more
