The place had a really cool vibe, the food and service was excellent. Meeting the chef was a fun treat for this foodie, he was... down to earth and loved talking about food. And the mango chutney, you'll want to take a jar home if you could (I did manage toget a small cup to bring home, thank you again Chef). Make sure you buy a round of beer for the kitchen staff before you leave(a menu item), they deserve it! I'll be back and next time I'll bring a better date with me, gluttony. Read more
Absolutely lovely. The burger was possibly the juiciest burger I've ever had. The fish spread and fried green tomatoes were... excellent. The berry cobbler just completely sealed the deal. Attentive servers even though it was very busy. Fun atmosphere and cool kids ambiance. Although a tad loud, however we dined... upstairs and it was less noisy. I had the Chefs special and was BLT w egg - I asked for it poached and it was cooked toperfection and delicious. Two Happy Hour visits in a week. The food - fantastic. The staff - superb. A great place to relax after a long walk on the... beach, or just exploring downtown Sarasota. And if the roasted tomato soup is the soup du jour, get it! You won't bedisappointed. Highly recommended. Read more
Visited Boca for brunch based on great reviews and trendy/cute decor. Overall, it was an OK experience. The service was nice but... not overly attentive. It was pretty busy but we got our food in a timely manner. We had the fried green tomatoes without cheese,which were really good! Ordered a Kipos salad with shrimp which was very tasty too. Unfortunately, even after asking if the cornbeef hash was good.. and was told it’s a great dish for corned beef lovers (like myself) I was highly disappointed because theprotein WAS NOT corned beef. How are you going to have something listed on your menu and serve something completely different?And recommend it to someone based off of that? The white of the egg was also not cooked through so I had to pick around my dish. Read more
One of my fave restaurants in downtown Sarasota. The decor is simply fun Southern contemporary. I ordered the fresh catch of the... day which was a thick Red Snapper steak that was obviously fresh. It was presented on a bed of colorful veggies with a sweetpotato paste for garnishment. As typical here, there was an edible flower, too! I've never been disappointed here!! Read more
